Happy Valentine's Day!

I never know whether to put Valentines or Valentine's.  Figured it out today.  It is St. Valentine's Day so ....  Hope you have been having a good one.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day related was on the list.  Gene went to physical therapy and they had a heart shaped red balloon by the front desk so I sketched that.  I had a pretty good shape with the Micron 03.  I decided to put some red on it at home.  The paper in the Canson travel sketchbook is regular paper so doesn't even take the ink very well, you can see some of the Sharpie bleeding through by the heart.  I used colored pencil which has to be layered to get dark colors.  I lost the shape doing that and also the white paper for highlights.  I added some with a gel pen afterwards.  At least I sketched.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life 148  https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-148-feb-7-feb-15.7718/

Number 4 Valentine's Day related - balloon about 18 inches tall in the small Canson sketchbook with Micron 03, colored pencil and gel pen.

After PT we ordered lunch and stopped at the local dingy smokey bar to pick up an old fashioned grilled burger for Gene and catfish for me.  It is good food but the bar is smokey and so dark I had to use light from a phone to sign the credit card bill.  They gave us a chocolate rose.  I will have to try to sketch that too before we eat it later.  That is our Valentine's Day celebration.  Gene didn't get out to find me a little toy ... maybe tomorrow.

Likely there will be more to this story.......

Red, White and Blue Sketch

It is already the end of Hunt 113.  I got 12 done.  That is about my average I would say out of the 26 items.

I sketched in the BookFactory sketchbook with a fading Micron 03 and added colored pencil.

Number 11 plastic - a red spatula
Number 12 decoration - some of the grungy pottery animals from Chile.  They are so pretty new.  Gene used to buy me one every time they went to eat at Parque O'Higgins in Santiago.  I had a bunch.  Also the cups had little wooden saucers.

Now ....

And the way they used to look in some on-line photos of similar items:

Here is a blog post about these and my mugs from 2011 with some sketches from the Hunt from other artists for my mug collection.

Travel Sketches and Being Famous

Well, we traveled all the way to Austin for Gene's checkup and lunch with Joanna.  I sketched in the Strathmore travel sketchbook which has watercolor paper but didn't use watercolors of course.

For Scavenger Hunt 103   https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-103-feb-13-21.6587/#post-109130

Number 1 free space - out the window while we waited.  I used an Acurite 03 pen.  I did not finish the sketch, notably the tree on the right.  It is a covered patio with picnic tables and you can see part of a parking lot, didn't finish that either.

Number 2, vehicle with a challenge to do heavy equipment.

I drove up the road to a new house under construction to find a piece of heavy equipment.  I should have used watercolor since the paper type, but I colored it quickly with colored pencil at home.

***  **  ***  **  ***

I am famously published, but not as an artist but as a photographer.  A few years ago I received a note from a gentleman in Albuquerque that was writing a book about New Mexico animals.  He asked if he could use some photos I had posted of raccoons.  Of course I gave permission.  Well, the book is published and I am credited with the photos.  It is a reference book published by the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

The wow part is Jean-Luc Cartron mailed me a copy of the book!    "Wild Carnivores New Mexico" edited by Jean-Luc E. Cartron and Jennmifer K. Frey  is no ordinary book.  It is beautifully done with a pretty dust cover and off white cloth cover.  The page size is 7.5 x 10 inches and the book is 2.5 inches thick.  It has 39 pages of contents, sponsors, maps, etc., and 1100 pages. It weighs 7.2 pounds.  It was published in 2023, University of New Mexico Press and printed in China.  There is an electronic edition and also has a Library of Congress Control number.

 Copyright photos from the book:

My part of a page.

And the book as it arrived:

Is that cool or what??  I was very excited to receive the beautiful book.  I see parts done in Magdalena, our hometown so am anxious to look through it and read more.

Final for Hunt 77

I finally gathered up all the items for the Scavenger Hunt and did my sketch.  The challenge was to put all 26 items in one sketch.  I talked about the challenge and sketching it before here just a few days ago.

https://jocastilloartblog.blogspot.com/2023/07/greenery-on-porch.html

Here is my sketch from today.  I put it in the large Canson watercolor sketchbook planning to use watercolor and ink.  I started with the wine bottle and it was smaller than I intended so all the sketch was smaller.  It is about 8 x 10 inches.  I don't have any tiny watercolor brushes so decided on colored pencil.  That wasn't much better as the watercolor paper is rough for the pencils.  Sigh....

For Hunt 77  https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-77-jul-21-jul-29.5776/

And the photo:

I left the yellow box cutter thing out of the photo when I was moving the items around.

Some of the items I used again.  The Texas plate, the pewter vase (the only vase we own), the Bolivian doll, the copper church (again about the only copper small thing we have) were used again.  A few other items were in one or the other of the first two drawings.  The books are Christy's and Jennie's wedding books that Larry did the photos for.  It was fun to Hunt the items.

 Here was my list:

Scavenger Hunt from Life #77: Jul 21- Jul 29

shelves or cabinet
vase
bottle
pitcher
fruit
stuffed animal
something yellow
figure (doll or sculpture)
clock, hourglass or timer
brass or gold object
seashell
favorite gemstone or rock
books
box (can be small/decorative)
a tin (Altoids, cookie tin, etc.)
bowl
copper object
silver object
flowerpot
flower
leaves/greenery
plate
cup
musical instrument (real, decorative, or mini)
wooden object
drinking glass

If there are any items you do not have, feel free to substitute with whatever you wish. Try to come as close as you can to a requested object.

For the favorite gemstone or rock, I chose a rose rock from Oklahoma.  They are very unique.  I thank my Oklahoma friend.

Copper Church in Colored Pencil

I was inspired to use my colored pencils, just for a touch of color.  Colored pencils take forever to do a "real" painting or drawing.  You might find it relaxing to color.  I find it a bit tiresome/boring as I want to just get finished.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life 77

https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-77-jul-21-jul-29.5776/

Number 2, copper - About the only small copper item I have for the big group sketch.  It has some odd angles for drawing.  All metal and antique looking.

I was sketching with my feet up on the porch and listening/watching a video about colored pencils.  That was my inspiration.  You can watch on Draw Awesome.  They have classes where you pay and have instruction, but also lots of free videos here:

I did the church in Socorro with colored pencil on Pastelbord and framed with no glass.

Folks in CP

I was searching for something different to sketch and looked up and there were a bunch of folks out in the field yakking and picking the blackberries.  I was interested in sketching more people so went to work in the ArtStreet sketchbook with a Micron 03.  I forgot to take a photo.  I didn't sketch all of them.  They seemed to meet there and happened to be friends so stayed for a bit.

For Scvavenger Hunt 67 https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-67-may-2-may-10.5443/

Number 7 moves - the folks picking berries.  As I finished I would have liked to add watercolor for practice, but the paper is for sketching not water.  A little coloring with pencils seemed to finish it off.

Today is Cinco de Mayo, May 5.  Gene's brother, Roger, used to always send us a photo of mayonnaise in a sink to say Happy Cinco de Mayo.  I did a quick sketch in the corner to remember Roger.  He always made us smile and continues to do so in our memories.

Hope you have a great day and weekend.  The Longhorns are in Lawrence, Kansas, to play the Jayhawks.  Preview here with links to the broadcast.  It will be on ESPN+ if you care to watch. First game tonight at 6 p.m. Central

Sketching in the Dark

It is still dark and gloomy, so I sketched at the dining table to have light.  We have lots of windows, but still dark.  Sure happy we bought this house.

Number 6 metal and 7 glass - sugar container
Number 8 plastic - pill container
Numbe 9 fabric - table cloth from Bolivia

Sketched in the ArtStreet sketchbook with a Micron 02 and added colored pencil.  The fabric is so much more brilliant but would take lots of time to "color".

Saw a new procrastination sign, "If good things come to those who wait .... isn't procrastination a virtue?"

James Gurney has a great sketch and weather note a couple of days ago on his blog:

http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/2023/04/i-deal-with-what-happens.html

Weather was always so important at the ranch.  Life depends on the rain so we checked every day.  In New Mexico when it rained we always got in the car to go see how much and where it rained.  My dad could tell from the color of the muddy water and how fast it was going where and how much.

We have had a little over 4.5 inches in the last couple of days.  That will help the wildflowers and our ponds for the fish, frogs, turtles and other wildlife that use the water.

Hope you are having weather that helps and are not in the bad storms this week.

Thinking of all y'all.

Ink and Colored Pencil Does It

I was in a hurry to get something sketched today.  Not sure why I felt rushed.  We were waiting for the TV Repairman, David.

We thought the old TV had gone out from the lightening.  Luckily it was the modem/box from Directv so they will send another.  In the meantime we can use the box from the guest room in the master.   We don't need to buy another TV at the moment.  Yay.

I sketched in the ArtStreet sketchbook with a Micron 02.  After I finished I decided to add some color and in that book the best option is colored pencil.  It took longer to "color" than it did to sketch.  Coloring with pencil is a bit like waiting for paint to dry.  I did not make the cardinal as red as I would like because I didn't want to sit there coloring any longer.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life 62
https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-62-mar-23-mar-31.5296/

Number 3 Lollipop - substituted a cinnamon sucker
Number 4 Mockingbird - substituted a metal cardinal that hangs on the wall.  The bird, branch, odd pine cone and pine needles are all metal.  We see lots of mockingbirds here, but I'm not fast enough to paint them.  They are pretty with the white under their wings and tail.  The stationary cardinal was good enough for me.

The Longhorn Baseball team went to College Station this evening.  They won over the Texas Aggies 5 - 2.  It was  a cliffhanger right to the end.  Baseball is always different, I think that is why I like it even though the games sometimes go long.

Black & White and Color

We went to have a checkup for Gene.  I sketched in the doctor's office with a Micron 02 in the ArtStreet sketchbook.  We came back home and I sketched in the same book, same page with the Micron 02 and added colored pencil.

Number 3 Something you've never sketched before - the blood pressure machine on the wall.
Number 4, colorful - a tissue holder for my purse.

We  a doctor in Austin tomorrow and the dentist on Wednesday.  Then we need to get some Christmas stuff going.  Yes, really.

Fishy Watercolor and More

I wasn't in a sketchy mood the other morning so decided to do another watercolor of the fish I mentioned last post.  The photo has a lot more seaweed and details, the fish appears to be in a fish tank.

This is watercolor in the 9 x 12 Canson watercolor sketchbook.  I used the Ohuhu water brushes.

I sketched in the regular paper sketchbook for the Scavenger Hunt from Life 37B.

Number 2, sounds wonderful -  CDs by our favorites:  Byrd and Street and George Ensle.

Today I sketched in this book again with Micron 08 and colored pencils.  I did do some of the lines with pencil first.  I don't usually do that, but lots of lines!

Number 3, lots of lines

Now back to procrastinating.......

Porch Sketching

These nice mornings find us on the porch.  We can't be out there very long but a good place to start the day.  Gene went on his trike this morning.  He is aiming for 10 miles, hope he makes it!

I sketched with the Blick gray markers, a Micron 08 black, a Gelly Roll white and colored pencils.  I spent about an hour sketching and enjoying coffee and a snack.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life 35

https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-35-august-10-18.4293/

Number 2, can - With shown tools in the Art Street Mixed Media sketchbook, 8.5 x 11 inches.  I think I got this at a dollar type store.  It has pretty good paper.  The markers have a chisel edge and a brush point.  Can't do really fine lines but they are nice. (you can click on the image to see it a bit larger)

Number 3, label - I used the white Gelly Roll to make the small white letters.
Number 4, fancy - the copper and beaded glass hummingbird feeder.  The birds seem to like the cheap plastic feeder better.  Ha.

H, I, J Sketches

And so the alphabet continues.  I find it hard to stick to the alphabetical order, but so far so good.  I sketched in the sketchbook that has regular drawing paper.  It can't be wet.  Maybe I should  put on some colored pencil.  Hmmm.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life 32

https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-32-july-17-july-25.4214/

(You can click to see a bit larger.)

Number 8 hammer - 2 of them.  The larger is a sledge hammer and the smaller is very old.  It belonged to my Dad.  I think he used it in his horse shoeing, farrier work.  We've always used it to hang paintings.

Number 9 instrument - the reader of Gene's rain gauge with temp, rain, humidity, date, etc.

Number 10 jagged - the spaghetti spoon and a small saw blade.

I went back and added colored pencil.  Not sure why, I can never find anything yellow to sketch.  Maybe this will remind me that Gene has yellow tools.

And some blurry photos of the birds this morning.

A young blue heron.

The heron taking off to fly away.

A white heron or big egret on the other lake.  The photos are very zoomed in so not good photos. These are for my "journal" memories.

It is very dry as you can see.  The water has muck on it and should go up to the far green brush.  We do need rain.

Messy and Bright Sketches

Back to homework, right?  Messy was a prompt in the Scavenger Hunt from Life and Bright was a weekly challenge.  Better to sketch something.

Scavenger Hunt from Life 11
Number 1, messy - a small corner of my desk (the scanner is behind the purse and the lamp below is on the right) sketched in the large Canson regular sketchbook with a Pilot ballpoint pen.

Weekly Challenge

Bright - my little "bright" bear in his UT hoodie that sits on my lamp.  Micron pens and colored pencil.

Today is Larry's pre-birthday party.  He will be working on the weekend of his birthday next week.  Our Texas bunch are going south of the border, he says to Inca Chicken with some Peruvian food.  We are hoping for  yummy, our first time to try this restaurant.

Not bad weather.  It always seems we have a great January without much cold and then February comes in with a deep chill just in time for baseball. Yikes!  UT Baseball Longhorns start on Feb 5 with the Alumni game and regular season starts on February 18 with Rice for a 4 game opener in Austin at the Disch.  We may have to subscribe to the Longhorn Network again.  It is free if we have a sports package which is aboout $15 a month more.  Free, indeed!

Sketching Crisp

Gene and I went off to get some Buc-ee's Beaver Chips and see where the local fire was.  When we were kids it was always something to do to go follow the fire truck and see what was up.  We did not find the neighborhood fire.  We did hear the sirens in the night, but thought it was an accident on HWY 21.  Pretty sure it was bad and a home or garage was lost.  It was posted on Next Door but we haven't heard yet what happened and if the family is OK.  We lost our home in the big Bastrop fire of 2011.   Something like that always happens to someone else, right?  My heart goes out to our neighbors.

Joanna mentioned how good the fresh potato chips were at Buc-ee's so we had to go and see.

A plus with the chips is that "crisp" was on the Scavenger Hunt list.

 I sketched in a 9 x 12 inch Canson Universal sketchbook with a Sharpie pen.  Number 3 - crisp .

Gene said the "chips" looked like poinsettia leaves so decided to add color.  Not sure if that helped or not.  you decide.

I added a bit of colored pencil.  The chips are sliced long ways on the potatoes so they look a little like banana chips.  Regardless of the shape, they are so good.  I don't know how Gene left a few of his.  I ate all of mine.  I'm pretty sure that Buc-ee's plans it that way as they are just in a small open paper bag by the sandwich kiosk.  Thanks for the idea, Joanna!

Our friend, Kelly Borsheim, is in Italy and working away on her art.  She does painting, photography, and is a number one sculptor.  She is making holes in a rock which will be a swan.  Have a look, always interesting....

Fall Color - Not Much

The winters in Bastrop, Texas, are very mild.  There are very few days that you can't get out to trike, golf or walk.  As a result our fall colors are pretty sad most years.  In the years we have lived here, which is about 25 - yikes, there have been only a few times that the world went colorful.  It seems we get only a few trees at a time.

This year, the little tree we planted about 10 years ago was a pretty orange.  I sketched it in the big book with a Sharpie pen and colored pencil.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life Number 4  https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-4-dec4-dec-12.2811/

#5 leaves

I posted a photo in the last post of this tree.  I lost more leaves yesterday in the wind.

This was at McKinney Falls, between here and Austin a few years ago.  We do get fall once in a while.

Hunt 693 Sketches

Sketching on the porch in the mornings has been delightful.  Thursday was very cool, about 67 degreees F.  Friday and Saturday, too.  In the high 90s in the afternoons.  Hopefully summer will soon be over.

I'm trying to get the big book finished by Christmas.  It will be 5 years I think.  Seems like much longer, ha.  Jennie expected me to finish in a couple of years.  It is 300 pages and I sketched on both sides so would have had to do a page a day almost.  No way ....

These are for Scavenger Hunt 693 in the big book with a variety of inks.  One challenge for the Hunt was to sketch directly in ink.  That is my usual mode, so an easy challenge for me.

Number 1 alphabet - I was going to sketch Scrabble tiles which I have done several times before so decided to find an alternative alphabet.  Thus the phonebook.
Number 2, spoon
Number 3, restful - a spoon rest
Number 4, lemon

You can click the images to see them larger.

Today no sketching.  Our adult kiddos are coming to celebrate my birthday, which is tomorrow.  We will eat pizza and play some Telefunken.  A progressive rummy game we learned in Bolivia.  It will be a good day and we can remember the first responders at the Trade Center in 2001.  Hope you think of them as well.

I sketched on a coaster while waiting for Gene to get his check up.  I had to wait outside so sketched the window by the entrance.  It was hot but I was in the shade on a bench with a breeze.

Number 5, universal - the No Smoking Sign in the window.  White limestone walls.  About 10 minutes.

Number 6, moon - with the association of moon - night - day - sun - sunlight
In the big book with a Micron 02 and colored pencil the light on the tree and grass, early morning.  About 40 minutes.

Hope your weekend is great.  Beautiful and peaceful here.

Routine Sketches

Are routines good?  Sometimes I feel like I get much more accomplished if I stick to a routine.  Have my snack in the morning with some good coffee and sketch.  Exercise.  Then post.  If I do that,  I have the rest of the day for painting, vegging or going out.  But sometimes that feels like a "rut" and that we should do something else.

Yesterday we opted for going to breakfast first.  Then the grocery store.  I had Gene all "trained" for grocery shopping but the past few months I have been doing the shopping.  How did that happen?  I do not like shopping at all and especially groceries.  Part of that is my list problem.  I can't follow a list or make a list to get going.  I do have the grocery app on my phone and that helps.  I still forget to put things on the list.  It is nice at the store because it tells you which aisle to go down to find your items.  I suppose I can get used to that.

We went to breakfast at the Texas Grill.  It is pretty good, sort of an average old time diner but a huge place.  Nothing different on the menu.  They don't have migas which is something I like here in the Southwest.  At home I make them with left over corn tortillas or chips, potatoes, sausage, green chile and scramble that into eggs with cheese on top.  At the Grill I usually have a cheese omelette.

But, I'm getting away from the sketching.

For Hunt 689  https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/scavenger-hunt-689-august-6-august-14/

Number 8, red - ketchup at Texas Grill with ball point pen and Precise Roller when I got home, on a coaster.

Today was on the porch - yikes!  Friday the 13th!  Number 7 (numbered out of order as I forgot the coaster sketch) - queen  Sketched in the big book with a new Sharpie pen and colored with the Precise V7 roller.  We play Telefunken, a progressive rummy game at family get togethers.  They play for me as I played in Bolivia.  I'm pretty sure that most of the family have fun with it ... margaritas always help.

Number 5 jar and Number 6 pickle- sub pickle relish and Number 7 ice pick.  Sketched out on the porch day before yesterday in the big book with the Micron 02 and colored pencil.

I finished the pastel painting and ordered a frame.  More about that tomorrow....

Sketches Hard

Sketching shouldn't be hard.  It should be a way to make progress in your art, try something new, practice and relax.  My sketching is practice for the most part.  I have been posting my sketches here and online.  My blog is sort of a journal with sketches, paintings and life.  Sketchbooks can be full of notes and ideas and are not generally open to the public.  I've done more sketching because I do post them.  I feel guilty if I don't do my "homework".  Sketching is good for you whether you post it to the world or not.  Up to you!

I could possibly have more readers if I focused just on art with lots of "how to" and art history.  Art for me is part of my life but not the most important part.  So my loyal readers are stuck with my "life" as well.

One of the items on Scavenger Hunt 687 was "hard".  We can make our own interpretations.  I chose to make it something that is hard not soft,  as opposed to difficult.  Sometimes they are interchangeable, eh?

For the Hunt,  You can click on the images to see them larger.

Number 7 (I think), hard - a china cup at the Texas Grill.  I didn't think to sketch my "different" cup on a coaster until we were almost ready to leave.  This is about a 2 minute sketch with Gene's pen.  I added the green at home with a Sharpie fine line marker/pen.  It wasn't difficult.

On the 23rd, I sketched in the big book with a Pilot ballpoint pen and colored pencils.  Gene's favorite wine in a box.  The Cabernet is from Chile so that makes it better.  Joanna gave us cookies in the can(s) at Christmas.  I bought some more cookies to replace the ones we ate.  The cans make great storage for shortbread cookies.  The other can is red plaid.  This sketch was more difficult.  I had a bit of a perspective problem in my freehand drawing.

For the Hunt Number 2 and 3, in a box and in a can.

For the July Challenge on wetcanvas, Southwest and Western forum, I sketched in an Art Street sketchbook the miniature horses we saw when we were looking for a house in Bastrop in 2011.  We try to do paintings for that forum.  A sketch is better than nothing.  This is freehand with a Micron 02.

I worked on the  cactus blooms photo that I put in the challenge.  I attempted a watercolor.  It did not come out well enough to post here ... it stays in the Art Street sketchbook.  As I said, not all sketches and notes are public info.

Cloudscape Colored Pencil

I was out on the porch this morning to sketch the cloudscape for Scavenger Hunt 687 our newest Hunt.  That sounds like the same old thing, but it is great.  We have been having the house painted, well, the trim.  The house is brick.  The painter has had all sorts of problems besides the rain we have had.  So the porch has been without carpet and furniture for a loooooong time.  He put up a new ceiling light and fan for us and painted the porch so we now have the carpet down and can enjoy the porch even when it is pretty warm.  It was lovely out this morning even without the fan.  Nice to get almost back to normal out there.

Number 1, cloudscape - colored pencil in the big book.

Like any medium, practice and dedication is needed to portray your idea in the best manner.  I am lazy about colored pencil.  It does take many layers and blending to get the right colors and textures.  I like once and done!  One of the best colored pencil artists ever,  I "met" on wetcanvas years ago.  She is absolutely amazing.  Many techniques and styles .. you will see something you like.  Nicole Caulfield is the one!

One Hunt Over and a New One Begins

It was a nice morning yesterday, lightly raining.  I sketched on the porch in the big book.  I planned to post early but the internet was out when I came in and as the morning went on, we got busy and I forgot to post my sketches.

I'm hosting again, we have had some artists that come in and out.  So, here is the list for this Hunt if you want some ideas of what to sketch this week.

Scavenger Hunt #681: June 3 – June 11

Footstool or step-stool
Fence
Yard art
Canned food
View through a door
Cup or mug
Fist (2 views)
Bucket
Trash bin/can
Folds or folded
Art supply
Corner of a painting
Flower
Small appliance
Candle
Security
Favorite sketching space
Small table
Heart
Mirror
Blue
Reference book/material
Group of 3 something
Slippery
Cooking pot with cover
Recycle
Challenges
1. Do some or all the list in order
2. Hold an item in your hand and include your hand
Have fun all y’all…

I sketched for the Hunt that ended yesterday first with the Lamy pen and added some colored pencil.  Seemed a good idea for both sketches.

For Scavenger Hunt 680, Number 5 something you got recently.  Roger sent us a big jar of chocolate covered raisins.  Sooooo many, but very good.

For Hunt 681

https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/scavenger-hunt-681-june-3-june-11/

Number 1 small appliance - I like my mixer probably because it is red.  I was trying to sketch something that I haven't sketched before.  When I started sketching this I had some deja vu.  It was still a good exercise.  I thought of our new coffee maker but it had coffee in it and I would have had to sketch at the kitchen counter.  So mixer it was!

The Longhorn Baseball Regional starts at 1:00 p.m.  Gonna be a problem, 3 inches of rain or so expected this afternoon and more for this whole week.  There are 2 games for today, 2 tomorrow and then a 1 or 2 game final on Sunday.  Yikes.  Soggy....... Hook 'em Horns!

I Grew up in a small town , Magdalena, New Mexico. I enjoy art and the pleasure other people get from my work. I always donate some of my sales and art to charities, especially for children. That started in Bolivia with Para los Niños. "I cannot pretend to feel impartial about colors. I rejoice with the brilliant ones and am genuinely sorry for the poor browns." -- Winston Churchill
