Sad news

We are in New Mexico on a family emergency. My brother-in-law passed away after a long illness (cancer). "Uncle Paul" was a great guy. He was 74. We will miss him very much.

I will be posting about art and more soon. I did paint with a grand niece, Aubrey, yesterday afternoon. She is about 7 and we had a great time painting a pot of daisies in acrylics. No photo, drat. Maybe her aunt will send one.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

I wanted to share with you my surprise this morning. This Mushabelly Horse was sitting on my keyboard. He is about as wide as the keyboard and about 9 inches high. You squeeze his tummy and you hear, clop, clop, clopity clop and then a neigh or whinny. He is very soft and has a mane and tail. On his ID tag it says he was born on January 31, 2006, and his name is Faris. He likes to eat honey and oatmeal. He made me laugh out loud! So, there you are then.

I hope you have a nice Valentine's Day and it includes a surprise as well.

Food for Thought

We complain about paying taxes. Joanna put a link to this article to think about. Exxon has a $30 billion tax bill for 2007. Whew.

Happy Birthday, Barbara!

First of all, June 6 is my sister's, Barbara's, birthday! I hope she has a great day.

She is seven years my senior, if I am allowed to say that and not give away her age. :) So I was always the pest in her world. When she was in high school, she had to take me along at times. It was her responsibility to get me off to school in the mornings. Very irritating as I wore braids and hated breakfast foods. I wanted coffee and toast or left overs from last nights dinner. I was very messy (still am) and she was very neat. So....

At this hour of the morning I couldn't find a photo of Barbara when she was little, so settled on this photo of part of the family at the ranch. I just love what our Mom wrote on the back.

Happy Birthday, Barbara!

Prepaid AT&T Phone Cards Arghhhhh!

Well, we had a shock today! We have been using AT&T prepaid phone cards for several years. They have been costing us about three and a half cents a minute in the U.S. We used them in Canada for about ten cents a minute. There are no fees and taxes like on your phone bill. Now that we are hooked on using them they up and change it ... with no notice! We bought a new card today for a gift and they have changed it so that calls within the same state cost more and in New Mexico where we intended the card to be used, it is about twenty five cents a minute. Is that not a sneaky thing to do? No warning! The cards we are using are fine until we buy more minutes ... then they up the cost on them as well. How inconvenient is that?

This is so irritating. All done with no notice at all!! So good by AT&T .. never again. We are boycotting you!

Rats.
