All Fired Up .. glass and pottery show, Bastrop

All Fired Up is the name of the show at the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild Gallery for May. Markie and Lea Cundy are a pair of the featured artists. I have mentioned them on the blog before. Markie is a young fused glass artist and Lea, his mom, is a wonderful potter. Lea makes beautiful bluebonnet and Texas wildflower designs. It was fun to attend the opening last Saturday evening and visit with them and the other artists. They had some beautiful pieces, good food, good music and good times. If you are in Bastrop this month, stop by the Gallery at 1009 Main Street, downtown, and have a look.

Reminder Markie Cundy Glass Artist

A reminder that Markie will be at Art on the Bridge in Bastrop, Texas, this Saturday, October 13. I received this note from him today. Let's make it a great day for Markie.

"I would like to invite you to see me at Art on The Bridge on October 13th in historic downtown Bastrop. I will be in booth #2 next to the Blue Donkey booth. I will have an assortment of glass jewelry and nice fused glass sun catchers. Please stop by to say hello and to sign my guestbook."

Marcus Cundy, Fused Glass Artist

Well, guess who is advancing in the art world? None other than Marcus "Markie" Cundy, son of Lea Cundy in Bastrop, Texas. Congratulations on being the cover artist in the paper this past week!!

Marcus has been doing art since he could hold a crayon. He can paint, draw and many other techniques but seems to be working with glass at the moment. If you are in the area check out the Art On the Bridge on Saturday, October 13, and get acquainted with Markie and buy some jewelry. There are many artists working in a variety of media and producing original art work. A big day in Bastrop with arts and crafts. You can read about it on the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild web page.
