Ink and Colored Pencil Does It

I was in a hurry to get something sketched today.  Not sure why I felt rushed.  We were waiting for the TV Repairman, David.

We thought the old TV had gone out from the lightening.  Luckily it was the modem/box from Directv so they will send another.  In the meantime we can use the box from the guest room in the master.   We don't need to buy another TV at the moment.  Yay.

I sketched in the ArtStreet sketchbook with a Micron 02.  After I finished I decided to add some color and in that book the best option is colored pencil.  It took longer to "color" than it did to sketch.  Coloring with pencil is a bit like waiting for paint to dry.  I did not make the cardinal as red as I would like because I didn't want to sit there coloring any longer.

Number 3 Lollipop - substituted a cinnamon sucker
Number 4 Mockingbird - substituted a metal cardinal that hangs on the wall.  The bird, branch, odd pine cone and pine needles are all metal.  We see lots of mockingbirds here, but I'm not fast enough to paint them.  They are pretty with the white under their wings and tail.  The stationary cardinal was good enough for me.

The Longhorn Baseball team went to College Station this evening.  They won over the Texas Aggies 5 - 2.  It was  a cliffhanger right to the end.  Baseball is always different, I think that is why I like it even though the games sometimes go long.
