Hunting on #332

I sketched in the house this morning.  I think I am overdoing the porch thing.  I sketched in the regular sketchbook with the Prismacolor Premier 03, freehand and quickly.

Number 1, something on a table.

Number 2, something on the wall.

Actually, I don't think the porch thing can be overdone.  At least not sitting there and enjoying the beautiful view and mornings.  I do tend to sketch the same things over and over so that is why I moved into the house.

The weather has been great.  We sleep with the window open and cool off the house early in the morning.  The air conditioner hasn't run once today.

EP on the Scavenger Hunts asked me what the pin was made of that I sketched previously, so I posted a photo on wetcanvas.com.

This is the sketch and what I wrote here on my blog:

Number 3, piece of jewelry and Number 4, hand.  The jewelry is a pin from Bolivia.  It is gold filagree with little llamas, houses, people and Inca symbols.  This piece was with me when the big fires took our home.  I have it, a pair of earrings and a wedding band from Bolivia.  Nice memories.

Here is the photo I posted for EP:

Your Inca pin made me think of this. While in Quito, an older man approached us and wanted to take us on a guided tour. He was persistent, and we finally went with him. Hey, his English was pretty good. Anyway, while we were in some church, he pointed out a design on a wall and said, "That is Incas! Not Catholic!" He said it with such indignation and kept repeating it over and over to make sure we got it. I wanted to laugh, but knew that was not the right response.

Bag Blog, Pretty funny. In Lima, Peru, in the big cathedral they have a painting of the Last Supper and the main dish is guinea pig with pineapple and fruits from Peru. The Spaniards sent Peruvian artists to Spain to be trained in the old masters ways. They then added their own touches. :) Supposedly no one noticed the Last Supper before it was unveiled to the public. And it is still there. Ha.

Nice sketches, Jo, especially the hand with the pin! I'm glad to know you still have some jewelry from your travels.

And what is that hanging below the fruit painting?

Hi, Regina, yes it is nice to have some things. Some of the family have regifted some items to us as well. :) Those things under the paintings are the little pieces of rock/glass that you and Larry made with copper wire to hang in the trees. However we don't have any trees where we can see them so I hung them in the dining room where I can enjoy them! Thank you!
