Inktober Day 17 - collide. I was thinking car wreck but then remembered the old Jim Reeves song, "When Two Worlds Collide". I drew the album cover with a little change for the name of the song on it. It is sketched in the big book with the Micron 02.
This sketch doesn't look much like Jim Reeves. We always liked to listen to him sing. I think he would have been a star that could sing Country Western and cross over to Pop and would have been very popular everywhere if he hadn't died. You can sample this song on youtube here:
I also sketched for the new Scavenger Hunt 698 that I am hosting.

Number 1, open - the to go box
Number 2, sandwich - the sandwich I had for Friday lunch at the Root Cellar in San Marcos, Texas. It was an eggplant sandwich. My first, it was very good.
These were done in the big book with a Micron 02 in my studio by the computer.

First Jo super sketches. I think sketching people is such a challenge. Good idea to do an album cover. As for an eggplant sandwich...that sounds interesting. Have never heard of this delicacy. I like eggplant parmesan...So bet I would enjoy a sandwich as well. Hope you have a delightful week. Hugs!
eggplant! ugh! lol
Debbie, thanks. Jim Reeves was fun to try. Maybe I could get a better likeness with something you can shade with. The sandwich was fun and good. Gene had some pecan bourbon crested chicken he said was good.
Jennifer Rose, I never liked eggplant, maybe because of the name. (I don't care much for eggs.) But the British got the aubergine name popular in South America so it was more intriguing. It doesn't have much taste, like squash but has a bit better texture. You made me chuckle.
He has a nice soothing voice.
Love the sandwich in the to-go box!!! I've done grilled veggie sandwiches that had eggplant and have enjoyed them. Yum!
I like the Jim Reeves - that took some thought! I posted two posts of intober inks, but I still need to post some more.
Bag Blog. You sketch so beautifully in ink. I like ink because it is once and done. No coloring or waiting for paint to dry. :-)
Joan, I always like Jim Reeves. Sigh.... The sandwich was great. I've never cooked eggplant at home. An idea? No, I'm too lazy.
I like your sketches. Especially the one with sandwich :)
Alexa, thank you.
