I sketched yesterday and today for Scavenger Hunt 596

We went to the Artfest in Eagle Nest yesterday. It was lovely out. There were quite a few vendors and some wine tasting. We did not find anything new or exciting. There were no painting artists. There were lots of jewelry, pottery and iron sculpture artists. We were going to go to dinner at the restaurant by the saloon. The saloon was open but the restaurant is not open this year. One less place to eat. A shame, it has been good in the past.
We decided to stop at Zeb's for a drink on the way home. It is nothing fancy but is consistent and always open. They make a great margarita from scratch, no pre-made mixer. They are a water glass large, probably 14 ounces. Yikes! One and done!
Number 6, tastes delicious - margarita (daisy in Engish) on a coaster with Micron 02
Today I sketched in the car while Gene rode his trike. Such a peaceful time by Monte Verde Lake.
Number 7, instrument - instrument panel
Number 8, knob - on the radio
Number 9, key - my car key
And some photos from the day... You can make them larger by clicking on them.
I like the billboard on the trailer of a truck.
Self explanatory, but look at the sky. They were lucky it didn't rain.
In front of the saloon and closed restaurant. Lots of motorcycles at this time of year.
There are lots of flowers by Angel Fire. I think these are some sort of lupine.
A bunch of beautiful poppies in front of El Jefe Restaurant, it used to be the Sunset Grill. We haven't been yet this year. Hope it is good. It is by the ski lift so full of extreme bikers and hikers in the summer. They have Yoga and Mimosas on Sunday mornings at the top of the lift. Not for me!
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

How I envy you the cool weather! And the tall margaritas.
Bag Blog, I agree with you. I miss you, too! Fun to paint and relax together with you guys.
Pretty flowers. I could easily get sidetracked by them. lol
Joan, There don't seem to be so many wildflowers this year. It snowed late so they are just getting started. You know well that folks with short summers have lots of hanging flowers.
