Yep, I wiped the paper off again. It could be cleaner, I could have wet it and removed more pastel. The surface is good for sketching as it is not glaring white or whatever it was. I'm thinking it must have been beige. It is a bit intimidating to touch a blank canvas, especially a white one for some reason. Painting or sketching on to a colored surface gives the artist a bit of freedom.

Number 1, Glowing - my little Texas bear sitting on the lamp on my desk. I put him there last baseball season and he is still there for this year. Yikes!
The piece of paper, it is Colourfix sanded paper, 12 x 0 inches with a border. A few shadow images are there. Looks like apple, banana and calf.

Sunday we went to the Devil's Backbone Saloon in Fisher, Texas, about 10 miles west of San Marcos. A super show with Susan Gibson
https://www.susangibson.com/ and Friends. Susan performed and then had veterans from Soldiers, Songs and Voices perform.

In the first photo you see Dustin Welch and his wife that started the Soldiers, Songs and Voices in Texas. Such a great thing. Any veteran can go to the sessions and learn to play an instrument. Guitars are furnished free and the sessions are free. The songs they write can be sad but they are from the heart and meaningful.

Joan, thank you. Good music which you can probably hear on their website better but live music is so much fun with the stories that go with the songs.
The bear looks a little sad in the sketch. Why so sad? :-)

Ha, Joanna. I hadn't noticed that frown I painted. The frown isn't that exaggerated on the bear. Live music is the best and with you more special.
I saw Susan Gibson at the Devil's Backbone on Joanna's Instagram. It reminded me of when we were going to school in San Marcos and we would take Sunday drives down the Devil's Backbone. One of Toby's friends drove it on his motorcycle, which should have been fun, but it was pouring down rain.
Bag Blog, Susan is so much fun. You might see her in Red River sometime. Evidently the Devil's Backbone has been closed for a while and recently was reopened by musicians. Hopefully it will keep going. A little far for us on a regular basis. About 70 miles one way.
