Southwest Sketch

I fully intended to get out the pastels again, but time got in the way.  I need to get my art stuff sorted and packed.  Which means I have to clean up my studio to get to my art stuff!

I sketched for the Southwest and Western Art forum in my travel sketchbook with the Micron 05 pen.  This is from one of the photos I posted for the August Challenge.  I took the photo several years ago when my art buddy, Sue Modrak, was here for a visit.  Pretty cute sign.

There are two horses in the photo .. I wonder which one bites?  We didn't try to find out.

If you are in Newfoundland, my internet artist friend, Jeanette Jobson is opening a gallery, or opened with the grand opening this weekend.  If you aren't there, have a look at the website, you may find a painting just for you.  She has some coloring pages to download as well.  Have fun.....

even if they didnt bite, its a good way to stop people from feeding them :p

Jennifer Rose, Ha! I hadn't thought about that. The horses were sort of in town. Maybe folks did offer them goodies. I don't think that lot is there anymore, I think they built the Convention Center there.

there use to be signs on one of the pastures where i lived with the same signs, but it was because the ponies were getting fat. they were actually really nice gentle ponies lol

Nice sketch, I love the sign, lol. So glad to see you're keeping busy. Off to check out the link you posted.

Jennifer Rose, you are probably right. These sure looked gentle and were used to people being around. Barely looked at us.

Barbara Pask, Thank you. Nice to "see" you. You have been painting a lot! That is good. I haven't been able to watch Susan, my old Mac doesn't like the site for some reason.

Good horse sketch. It's funny that there is a sign warning of biting. It's a good idea, but funny.

Bag Blog, I had never seen a sign like that. Of course, we didn't have horses right in town but our sign would have just said "Keep Out" or something.
Thanks on the sketch.
