A quick reminder of the Mistletoe Jam fundraiser tonight! Yes tonight! We got a litte teaser yesterday in Bastrop. They are having live music on the street to bring shoppers downtown. Not many people seem to know. Byrd and Street played yesterday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. so we went downtown. Great show and then we had a great dinner at Baxters on Main. Yummmy.
Anyway, Byrd and Street host the Mistletoe Jam at Threadgill's South at 6:00 p.m. tonight! A fundraiser to get help for older kids in foster care find forever homes. Come down for a super show. More info here

I sketched in the large sketchbook the last couple of days. Probably procrastinating and staying away from painting. Hmmm. These are for Scavenger Hunt 385 http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1366876 Come on over and sketch with us!
Number 2, up close - candy. Actually I intended to get closer and then forgot as I was thinking about the celophane wrapper. I liked it better before I added the marker. I should have left white highlights. Would have looked more like a clear wrapper.
Number 3, Something across the room - the nesting tables at the end of the TV stand/fireplace.
Number 4, toe - toe of my shoe
Number 5, sleeve
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

The candy and wrapper are fun. Watercolor Magazine has an article by an artist who paints watercolor still-lifes set up with glass. Your cellophane reminds me of the difficulty in portraying clear things.
Thanks, Bag Blog. I could have left some white to show the reflective parts but didn't plan ahead. I guess I don't do enough watercolor. Heh, heh. Although I was using markers.
another bunch of nice sketches :)
hmm now I want candy :p
Thanks, Jennifer Rose. I know how it is, sometimes our list has more food than I need to think about!
Getting a little M. C. Escher there at the end, Mom. I like it. :-)
Joanna, thank you. I got lazy and didn't do the sketching hand. Ha.
Jo, it is always such fun to browse your blog! I've enjoyed all your clever sketches; you are an impressive artist with the charming bonus of not taking yourself overly seriously. Enjoy your "eye" and your sense of humor.
Mary, thank you. I appreciate your kind words that pep me up. :)
