We had more offers today of places to stay, near Bastrop and as far away as Maine. Like I said we could go and stay a bit here and there around the country for a couple of years! Maybe we will become gypsies.
This evening we went up to Red River to relax and pick up some photos from the rafting trip a while back. Nice photos to share with Jennie, Larry and Joanna and the rest of you. We had a nice dinner at Texas Red's and were in the rain most of the afternoon. Too bad we can't share some rain with Texas. I feel like all of Texas is on fire! The wonderful fire fighters must be exhausted. Over 1300 homes lost in the Bastrop County Fire and many others around the State. I feel for those families. It is wonderful how many homes have been saved and we are so grateful for that.
Anyway, here are a few photos of good times......
Larry far left, then Gene .. Jennie second from right. |
Same order here of course. |
The above photos are the rainy shots from today, Red River to Angel Fire. In the next to the last one you can see the snow on Wheeler Peak, tallest mountain in New Mexico. Brrr. It is 46 degrees here now and 78 in Bastrop. We will be going back to the heat. Not good.

Great photos!
I love rafting the Rio Grande - it looks like your family did too. I'm glad you have a place to stay. If we get this house done soon, you can come stay here on your gypsy travels.
How exciting to go rafting, was it scary, as well? I've always wanted to try it! I sure hope you brought a huge drum of that water back with you, you know we need any we can get. :-)
You have LOTS of friends in Austin with whom you can stay, too, of course. Have blog, will travel!
Love, Sue
