About 5:30 yesterday we were sitting here in the living room. The building gave a huge jolt and then there were a couple of shudders.
Gene, "What was that?" Me, "I don't know, are they still blasting here?" "Don't think so, didn't sound like an explosion," he says. "Maybe an earthquake," I said, remembering how they felt in Santiago, Chile. All quiet, dogs start barking, shaking and noise. Yucky........ Didn't hear any dogs bark here, though.
We walked around and looked. No one running outside or anything. We decided .... well nothing. Forgot about it. But it is on the news this morning. Earthquake right on the border of Colorado and New Mexico. That is not far away!
The KOAT news says there was a larger one about midnight, but we didn't feel that one. Another report said it was the strongest since 1973. We were in Denver and felt one about that time. We were at a drive-in movie and the car really shook. Felt like someone, a huge someone, just walked up and jumped up on the bumper.
We felt several pretty bad ones when we lived in Chile and in Peru. Very scary! No where to run.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I saw on facebook that you guys had an earthquake. How exciting...I think.
Bag Blog, I don't think exciting is the right word. Hmmmm. Very interesting though. Gene didn't recognize it as a quake .. I sure thought so. Creepy feeling.
Also had one back East today! Just heard about it on the news. 5.8
dixon48, Hi Kim, didn't know you had a blog. Cool. The east coast quake was pretty bad to damage buildings and all. Not good. Glad no injuries so far.
I never even felt it!
Fantastyk Voyager, good thing, pretty weird.
Fantastyk, I meant the quake was weird, not that you didn't feel it. Ha.
Cool youtube video. Glad you felt the earthquake but had no damage. Those things are weird.
Joanna, it was weird. Your Dad thought I was goofy for saying it was a quake. Guess he forgot the feeling!
