I have been working on wildflower paintings in pastel. I find it a little difficult to make the flowers look like they are not heavy and pasted on. I was working on Pastelbord.
This was my first attempt and I was not very pleased with the lined up look and wiped it off.

Another quick pastel of the Indian Blanket wildflowers. I'm not finished with this one.
This is where I was working. My space is becoming more settled and comfortable to work in.
These two photos are of the new flag pole in front of my studio/gallery. The Bastrop Fine Arts Guild puts up the flag and the Art Gallery sign. Gene had put up the first flagpole way back in about 2000. It was one of the regular flag holders with the aluminum pole and it would have to be worked on every few weeks. The "waving" of the flag in the wind would pull it loose and last week the aluminum pole actually broke off where it was bending in the wind. Gene had this pole made by his brother for his Mom to use in Magdalena at her home. When she moved to Albuquerque, Gene brought the flag pole home. He decided that it would be a good pole for the flag in front of the gallery. It looks better and is nice and sturdy. Thank you, Gene.

Actually, I like both versions of Texas Blooms. I have those Indian Blanket flowers in bloom in my yard! Just planted them this year... a new flower for me. Very pretty!
