Happy Father's Day, Gene!
I finished the Sandias on Thursday, I think, but with baseball and other things going on I'm just now getting it posted. I didn't change too much on this landscape in oil, you can see the first post here.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I really like the sandias painting. Baseball has been keeping us busy too.
Hi Bag Blog, thank you so much. Good thing baseball is just in the Spring and a tiny bit of Summer. We'd never get anything done. LSU is tough, should be an exciting series, eh? We try to watch on TV and listen to the UT announcers on the internet. (usually about a pitch behind) The ESPN guys are sooooo bad.
Very nice Jo. This makes me want to open up the oils today. Did you do this one in pastel also?
Donna, thanks. I haven't done it in pastels, but it would be nice. I do plan to do a similar one in a panoramic format, like 12 x 24 or so.
Yes the oils are fun once in a while. It is different to use a brush and smush it all around. :)
Jo: What a neat painting, another beauty.
Texas Longhorn is moving along into the finals.
Thank you fishing guy.
Jo there is a lovely softness about your paintings I really love, this latest one has that quality. Tou can 'feel the air' in it.
Also loved the new sketches, that hand is wondeful.
Rae
Oops, thats.. "You can feel the air" sorry
Hi Rae, thank you so much. As you visit my blog you will learn what a chore sketching is for me, but I do think it helps my painting. Appreciate the visit. :)
This is a truly lovely pastel work, Jo! Gorgeous landscape. Thank you for coming by my tile blog and commenting on my recent posts. I haven't posted any paintings lately. I was in Tucson for over two months and the tiles I posted on my return were done before I left...I actually had an order from a very nice lady in New York. I did six tiles for her for her bathroom and now I am doing three more. This greatly encouraged me, I can tell you....sometimes it just take a little time to get "going." I did not do the sunflowers for her. This was a "painting" challenge I participated in because of a particularly lovely bouquet my Mom had last summer. Look back on the blog for my comment. Thanks again. I love your work, and look forward to getting caught up with everyone I haven't been on blogger with while I was away!
Thank you so much, Tile Lady. I haven't been around much either as far as visiting other blogs. Seems like Tuscon would be a nice place to be. I'll stop by your blog again when I can. :)
