Fishing Guy makes regular comments on my blog and we have been posting back and forth for a year, maybe. I'm not sure how we started as I am certainly not wandering around the cyber world looking for fishing blogs and Fishing Guy, Tom, wasn't looking at artists. Somehow by following links and comments we found our respective blogs. Tom has enjoyed learning about sketching and pastels and I have enjoyed learning about fishing. Well, not really fishing, but he has been taking photos of his fishing spots. He has joined several photo blog communities and has some interesting themes going regularly. One group take photos of the sky on Fridays as I recall. They take photos of their home towns. One bunch takes photos of critters and another of flowers. It has made for some great photo watching and Tom has become very good. He has a good eye and picks out great subjects.
He came down to Hutto to visit family from Kent, Ohio. (Did he bring the cold weather?) Hutto is just about 50 miles from here so he dropped by today. We had lunch at Grace Millers and then came to the house to see my studio and paintings. And a great time was had by all.
Turns out the person on the other end of our blogging conversations is a great guy! See for yourself.
Fishing Guy and Me
The waitress took a photo of the three of us, Tom, Gene and I with Tom's camera. When he gets back home and posts I will link to that. If you want to see some great photos, check out Tom's blog, The Fishing Guy. He is a country music fan and usually has a new play list going there, too.

Isn't it fun to meet fellow bloggers! I will be in Austin in April...
Bag Blog, I hope we can meet lunch, for a margarita or to say "Hey".
Well, that is just too cool that he would come visit!! Don't you love the Internet and how we can meet others with the same interest?
Hi Regina, It is fun to meet all the nice people as you say and easy to keep in touch. It was fun that Tom came to the house, too.
Jo: I had such a great time meeting you and Gene. You can still see my stiched left lip and that should be gone tomorrow. I did appreciate getting to meet you and hope we get together in the future. Thanks for sharing your time and it was wonderful to learn more about a blogging friend.
That was fun, fishing guy, we have to do it again. Maybe the next time we go to Michigan we can stop by. We go through Ohio on the way from Kentucky to Flint to see my art buddy, Sue.
I'm a Fishing Guy Fan and came here to see your art because of the post he did on his visit with you. Very nice!!!
Hi Susie of Arabia, thanks for stopping in, I will go check your blog, too. It is fun to "meet" new friends.
