Sketch for Hunt 98, Basket

I had a chance to sketch yesterday evening for Scavenger Hunt 98. I sketched in a sketchbook with a Pilot ballpoint pen. It took about 35 minutes sitting on the porch. A very pleasant pastime.

Number 3, basket with challenge of having #4, opener; #5, squeeze tube; and #6 spray bottle in the basket.

For new visitors to my page, I usually sketch with a pen without pre-drawing with a pencil or erasing. I try to make sure lines by looking/seeing well and then drawing. I am not always successful as I tend to just plow in and not study the subject and placement on the paper. I plod along trying to be accurate with perspective and lines. Always learning something. I think this practice with a pen helps me to paint better, by seeing and planning my strokes. By taking part in the Scavenger Hunts on wetcanvas.com I have been more consistant in my practice and have learned to enjoy the commaraderie of other sketch artists on the Hunts. I have also tried to draw new and unexpected items and using different media. Check it out, you may get hooked, too.
