New Hunt 78

It is already a new Hunt.  As we age the time goes by faster and faster.  We have made it through a month of 100º weather already and August is usually the warmest.  Not much to look forward to.

I didn't go out to sketch this past week and may not get out this week.  It is just miserable to get in the hot car.  We didn't even go to the paint and dine on Thursday evening.

For Scavengeer Hunt from Life 78 https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-78-july-29-aug-6.5817/

Number 1 flower - the second pot of geraniums.  It hangs close to "my" chair so had to sit on the glider to sketch it.  The geraniums are so skimpy from the hot weather that I added some blooms.  I spaced them so evenly that it doesn't look like I sketched it from life.

I used watercolor markers which you are not supposed to put in water.  The sky did not blend, the marks dried that quickly.  The markers are interesting to use and take practice.  And... practice takes patience and you know me!

I made some "bread" with oatmeal and yogurt.  It is sort of breadlike.  It is a bit like bisquits or scones with a sourdough taste from the yogurt.  I didn't sweeten it  because I didn't want cake, I wanted bread.  The recipes are on YouTube.

The gluten free bread I get here is always frozen and just not the same.  I could get some at the Tough Cookie, but very expensive.  They have a veggie menu with some gluten free items.  The veggie food is delicious!

I'm off to try an apple upside down cake now with the yogurt and oatmeal, another YouTube idea.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Sorry you haven't had a break in the hot weather. We've been close to 90 degrees most of the week, but it should be a little cooler tomorrow. I like that we have a garage so the car isn't out in the blazing sun at home...just when I get in after I've been out.

Your yogurt & oatmeal bread sounds interesting.

Joan, thank you so much. We do keep the cars in the garage, but when we go out, yikes! We don't expect any cool weather until the middle of September. Which by the way, some Urban sketchers are coming to Bastrop then! I will post it when I have the dates. Hope I get to sketch with them.
