Sketching guess where? It was nice on the porch for a short while, about 78 -80 degrees with the fan on. 98º F already with a high of over 100 about 5 p.m. Not the best time to live in Central Texas. No relief in sight.
Number 5, tree - I see this from my chair at the corner of the shed
Number 6, pet - subbing Gene, he is my pet, right?
Number 7, teacup - a Somayaki cup from the 70s. They are hollow or double layered, the hearts are on the outer layer and they have a hole on the bottom. This is the only one I have left. I had the small tea cups with no handles and these I used for coffee. They only hold about 6 ounces. You can see more on eBay. I didn't see a photo of my style with straight sides, most had slanted sides. Now that I was taking a photo, maybe the ones online are straight, too, and now photographed straight on.
The color isn't too bad, but the gold burned off and the cup are rough, as the glaze burned, too. Now just a fun memory.
You can click on images to see them a bit larger.Number 8, sunflower - subbing these Mexican Hats from across the street. I counld't find many flowers still blooming, too hot and dry I guess. Looks like our neighbor mows around these and maybe waters them. A bunch in the middle of the yard. I saw sunflowers down by the 602 pub but we haven't been back and probably won't before this Hunt is over.

Well, the LSU Tigers blew the College World Series game yesterday afternoon. Not sure what happened. They lost 24 -4 and had 4 errors. The finals will be at 6pm Central time. We are rootin' for the Tigers to beat the Gaters of Florida. All the games at the World Series had been close and exciting. This one broke all sorts of records. Surely today will be better. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Sorry it is so hot there. Not hot here but it alternates being somewhat clear with looking like it will rain any minute. I'd prefer if it rained already. We can use it and the way it is I don't want to be outside and get caught in a storm.
Interesting mugs. I like the heart idea. Nice sketches.
Joan, thank you. The heat is about 3 weeks early and will probably last until mid September. The time we used to go to NM. Luckily we don't have to be out working in it. I know what you mean about the rain, too. Always nice after when everything is washed and fresh.
The mugs and small cups were always fun for our card groups in South America. I ordered them from the Army/Air Force catalog so we had good prices that way.
Your pet substitution gave me a chuckle. :-)

Joanna, it was fun. Wasn't an original idea though, Paul's list item was:
Your Dog/Cat/Pet (partner acceptable)
The sketch of the tree is especially nice. I recognized your "pet".
bag blog, aww, thank you. My pet has appeared here a few times and you know him well!
