I kept playing in the dust for a quick sketch this morning for the Hunt. I wiped off that same old paper. It had the cat last time. It's looking pretty scroungy so may have to change one of these days.

Number 2 Gift - the bottle of olive oil, a gift from Jerry and Jennifer. It is always fun to have something new to sketch. I've sketched our household items since 2006 so some are worn out from sketching. Ha. It is Sola Stella (Lone Star) Extra Virgin Olive Oil, has the Texas flag on it and says 100% all natural. Bottled by the Texas Hill Country Olive Co. in Dripping Springs, TX 78620 https://texashillcountryoliveco.com/
Number 3 Something with a skin or peel - banana peel and Clementine
I didn't have the daylight light on and picked up a brown for the shadows instead of a purply red to contrast with the yellow and orange. I went over it with the purple, but should have wiped or brushed it off first. Remember it is just a quick sketch. It usually takes longer to put the sketch on creativespark.art and my blog than it does to do the sketch. I don't go for perfect in a sketch, just a feel and representation of my items.
It is spring in Texas but we had 86º yesterday and probably will again today, then it will cool off tomorrow and for a few days. We do get beautiful wildflowers. I love the little primroses.
The primroses are so delicate. Hard to paint and get them to look delicate. When they cluster and you see them from a distance they are like cotton sprinkled over the grass. They are more white than pink all clumped up.
Texas highway shoulders look beautiful right now.

Love the variation in the colors of the glass bottle. Nice job!!
Love the still life!
Joan, thanks. I need to take more time. The label is way off and "dirty", not so in real life. Ha. I like painting glass.
Love this work
ashok, fun seeing your work, too. Thanks so much.
Helen, thank you. I think still life and plein air and sketching from life are the best exercises for me. So much easier to see light and shadows and get good form.
