Patterns was on the Hunt list and these Belted Galloways (cows) were in the water media challenge on creativespark.art I needed to sketch or do some art. I woke up early and couldn't sleep so worked on the cows.
I sketched on my footstool on Sunday afternoon in the Ohuhu sketchbook with the same brand of pens. That is turning out to be a good purchase. I like both.
Number 2, wood - the glass topped coffee table
Number 3, pattern - the pattern on the footstool, I wasn't pleased with the first pattern but after I tried in the other style I found I preferred the first. I should have made some pencil lines for the squares first but not so bad freehand.
This morning I came to my studio and sketched with the watercolors and Micron 03 in the Ohuhu sketchbook. The photo is from the Water Media Challenge on creativespark.art by ErikRak from Belgium. We saw the Belted Galloways for the first time in Maine many years ago. They aren't common around here.
I like the Ohuhu sketchbook and pens. I won't buy any again, I thought they were from Japan. I will stick with Canson or hopefully will find something made in the USA.
There was a surprising bit of patriotism at the Superbowl with the flyover and the Ragged Old Flag by Johnny Cash. I have posted that here before.

Hi — (not-so-anonymous) Joanna, Thank you, I was remembering how Mom used to name all the cows at the ranch. Pretty cool. :-)
You did great on the Oreo cows. The first time I ever saw any of these cows was up on the NM/CO line. We had gone up to Amalia into San Luis taking the back roads - as if that part of NM isn't always back roads. We saw a herd of Galloway cows.
I love the old Valentine sketch.
bag blog, thanks. We haven't seen those cows in New Mexico. We haven't seen many at all. I like the Oreo cow name. Made me smile.
