Hedgehog in Dust

Pastel dust that is.

For the new Scavenger Hunt from Life 57

Number 1, animal - doesn't have to be alive, just sketched from life

My muse found the pastel dust for a quick sketch of the stuffed hedgehog.  He's been around for a good while.    Looks like I got him in 2012 and sketched a few times.  You can see some here:

I wiped the potatoes off of the blue paper. Bye-bye potatoes.

I sketched away with the pastels I had in my tray.  I really need to clean those and put them away.  I keep using the same palette and that gets me in a rut.  I am pretty sure I use my favorite colors over and over anyway, but I should create the option to try something new.

Ah your hedgehog Jo is adorable. He certainly made me smile. Enjoyed seeing how your pastels are stored and your work area. Have a super weekend. Hugs!

What a cutie! I think we all tend to use our favorite colors...I think that is a good thing.

Debbie, thank you for your kind remarks. I do like my pastels. Have a good week.

Joanna, thank you. I'm smiling now.

Joan, thanks. You are right but I try to at least use different combinations of my colors. I don't use much actual brown. Ha.

I like the hedgehog. I don't remember seeing him before. I did a little pastel last week on a pastel board. It was quick and easy and fun. Good practice.
