Lost and Found

Yes, I was lost and now found.  We had our son, David, an his wife, Lisa here for a week.  It was a great time with visits from the Austin bunch and family get togethers.  We have some great kiddos.  I say kiddos.  Joanna is retired and not long until David retires.  Yikes.

Then we went and dog sat with our grand-dogs at Jennie's and Brandon's.  The little Shih Tzus are cute but don't do much.  The youngest is just a few months old and fast and hasn't learned much about come and sit, etc.  We had to be sure to have her on a leash just to go out in the yard because we wouldn't be able to catch her.

Chewie and Reese

I did sketch a bit for Scavenger Hunt From Life 34

https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-34-august-2-august-10.4272/

Number 1, sleeping pet - Chewie with his head propped on the table leg and Reese passed out close by.  Reese is so black that when you can't see her eyes you can't hardly tell which way she is headed.

Number 2, exercise equipment - a stair stepper at Jennie's.  We didn't try it, worried about falling off.

Number 3, window treatment - out Jennie's sliding door.  I forgot the door parts in the middle.  The fan is out on the patio.

Number 4, soft - a fluffy blanket on the rocking chair.  It is burnt orange, a Texas blanket for baseball.

These sketches are in a Mixed Media sketchbook by Art Street.  It can take a bit of water like the window treatments above but it is not as heavy paper as the Canson Mix Media books.  These sketches are with a Micron 08 and the watercolors and waterbrush in the mini kit for my sketch bag.

Today was busy with catch up. I didn't do anything but the sketch.  Don't know why you get tired when you sit around and do nothing.  I do know that the less you do, the less you want to do.  Busy people get more done.

I was wondering where you disappeared to and was hoping you were doing something good...and you were. How great that you spent some time with the Kids and the pets too. Fun to sketch things that aren't normally around you.

Jo how adorable Chewie and Reese are. What wonderful names. Such good sketches too. I know with our summer heat my energy lags...hoping a cool down is coming and I will recover some energy. Thank you so much for your kind words regarding Shelby. Hugs!

Hi Joan, thank you so much. We had a great week. Fun to sketch new things, even quickly.

Debbie, thanks so much. The doggies are fun. They are a low energy breed our daughter says, so we fit well together. Binged on some TV we don't have here at home and did nothing. Good weekend.

Your comment on Reese "coming and going" made me LOL. Great sketches!

bag blog, thank you so much. Reese is a cutie. Jennie sent a new photo of her in the sun and she is getting some brown/dark copperish hair. Guess she will be brownish instead of grey like Chewie.
