H, I, J Sketches

And so the alphabet continues.  I find it hard to stick to the alphabetical order, but so far so good.  I sketched in the sketchbook that has regular drawing paper.  It can't be wet.  Maybe I should  put on some colored pencil.  Hmmm.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life 32

(You can click to see a bit larger.)

Number 8 hammer - 2 of them.  The larger is a sledge hammer and the smaller is very old.  It belonged to my Dad.  I think he used it in his horse shoeing, farrier work.  We've always used it to hang paintings.

Number 9 instrument - the reader of Gene's rain gauge with temp, rain, humidity, date, etc.

Number 10 jagged - the spaghetti spoon and a small saw blade.

I went back and added colored pencil.  Not sure why, I can never find anything yellow to sketch.  Maybe this will remind me that Gene has yellow tools.

And some blurry photos of the birds this morning.

A young blue heron.

The heron taking off to fly away.

A white heron or big egret on the other lake.  The photos are very zoomed in so not good photos. These are for my "journal" memories.

It is very dry as you can see.  The water has muck on it and should go up to the far green brush.  We do need rain.

I like the tools with the color added...cool yellow handle. Your photos really show how far down the water line is at the lake. Yikes!

Thanks, Joan. I like the color and I like black and white. It is dry, but the year we moved here in 2011 the ponds were completely dry. They have been good since then. Overflowed a few times.
