I can't believe the Alphabetical Hunt is over. I did not get to the end..... We keep going with a new Hunt and 26 new items to sketch over the next 8 days. We sketch from life and have fun with the Scavenger Hunts from Life.
Number 16 plastic - a small bottle
Number 17 quartz - an arrowhead, not sure of the type of stone, so substituting for quartz
Number 18, red - a red hot cinnamon sucker
These are for Hunt number 32

So the next sketches will be Hunt number 33. Stay tuned.
I also played in the pastels. I'll be back with that.
In the meantime I have a gripe about facebook. Seems I can do nothing about it. You remember I left facebook a few years ago because I have no control over what I see and sometimes the way I can post without links, etc. I have been perfectly happy without it.
A few weeks ago I signed up for a class, Pastel Live. It will be a 3 day immersion in pastels, similar to a convention/paint out but on-line. I hesitated because I find it hart to do classes on Zoom. The class offered some videos from other classes as a bonus and I will be able to review and watch all the sessions for a month or more. I'm not sure what I signed up for. Ha. Anyway, they will have a group on facebook to get to know the other artists and teachers and discuss the classes.
I decided to sign back up with facebook and keep my presence just to the Pastel Live class group. I thought I would use a google e-mail which I get with this blog so that I would be starting fresh. I signed in and was welcomed. I set all the preferences to private until I could get back in and connect with the group. A few days later I received notice that my account had been suspended. I was offered a "click" to "disagree with the decision". They would review and get back to me.
In the meantime, Blogger changed my email on my blog to the gmail account. I didn't want that so had to cancel the gmail and then couldn't hear back from facebook, but the account was cancelled before I changed it anyway so it didn't matter.
About a week ago I thought I would try facebook with my old info and see if that would work. Great! They signed me in and I set up all the preferences again to private so I could check on the group the next day. Well, after about 4 days later I received another suspension, disagreed and got the answer back that I was suspended permanently with no explanation at all. Did I post something disagreeable? I hadn't posted anything and did not post anything but art on my old facebook. Maybe a couple of jokes?? Anyway I am now a pariah on facebook and they are way out of my zone now.
It would be nice if they would explain why I'm booted. This was the last post. I evidently don't meet up with their community standards and I have no recourse now. Do they think I'm a fraud for changing e-mail. I've had my jo@jocastilloart.com email for probably 20 years??? Maybe I'm just offensive. Pbfft...

Maybe you're too much of a rebel for Facebook. I have another artist friend who had their account disabled too. All his posts are urban sketches and photos of locations he visits. He also wasn't given a reason.
Joan, thanks. I'm such a rebel, you are right. Ha. Maybe I made a typo on my birthday or phone number. Who knows? Some robot checks your info and if wrong you are a fraud. Sigh...
Jo your sketches are perfect for the subject matter...especially love the red hot cinnamon sucker.
As for FB who knows why you were suspended. It would certainly be nice if you knew the reason behind it. For me - I have a page but very rarely visit. Thinking that blogging is so much better. We can choose who to follow and what we want to share. Hope you have a great week. Hugs!
Debbie, hi and thank you. We get the cinnamon suckers at a local candy shop, Sugar Shack. I don't find them at the grocery store. Blogging is my favorite social media. I do have a presence on Pinterest and Linkedin, but don't post often. Groucho Marks that said "I wouldn’t want to be a member of a club that would have me for a member.” So maybe that is me. Ha.
That is so weird of Facebook. I know of lots of stuff that should not be "out there" on any media, and yet it is on FB. Something is definitely off about this.
bag blog, you know I'm a fraud! I haven't been on facebook for so long and didn't miss it, so guess I won't miss it now either.
