Color is my thing. I haven't sketched in color for a while. This morning color was calling me and the digital thing won out. No fuss, no mess.
For Scavenger Hunt from Life 22
Number 5, something you look up at from below - some wine paraphernalia on the hutch in the dining room.
This took about an hour on the iPad with the Apple pencil and the app, Brushes. I could have done so much more, but it is a sketch after all.
The purple cover on the bottle is from Bolivia. Felipa, our dear maid, used to knit the shawls and hats like the cholitos wear on the altiplano. A niece got us the wooden glass holder to hang on a bottle of wine with the summer plastic wine glasses with a sort of watermelon design on them. Gato Negro is one of the wines from Chile that we like. The bottle is empty of course as is the bottle under the cover.
We usually keep a couple of boxes of Franzia wine open here. Cabernet Sauvignon for Gene and Chardonnay for me. The cabernet is from Chile, what more can you ask? The chardonnay is from South Africa. The wine is in a plastic container in the box so no air gets in. The wine will last a month or more as long as you don't let air in. Economical and we can drink a lot or just one glass without the rest going "off". We haven't been drinking as much lately. Hmmmm. Guess we are just slowing down on everything.
Liking color I am drawn to the art of Joe Anna Arnett.

I especially like her still life but she is into the Plein Air movement now. Still painting still life, of course. Just gorgeous paintings. I was first drawn to her by her name. She spells Jo .... Joe. I saw some of her oil paintings in McAllen years ago. Very striking. I think she lives in the Santa Fe/Taos area now. She will be at the Plein Air Convention in Santa Fe in May??

im not much of a drinker, wine would go bad here before it got finished lol
Jennifer Rose, we have been wine drinkers since the 70s (Yikes). We have cut down some in our dotage. Ha.
People are funny about boxed wine. Sometimes we buy boxed wine for CTAC receptions, but then they put it in carafes to hide the fact that it came from a box. Since the wine at the receptions is free, I think that is pretty silly. Wine snobs :)
My mom bought herself a box of wine, but couldn't figure out how to open it. So she got a big tupperware cereal container, cut the wine bag open, and poured the wine in the container. Problem solved - ha!
Bag Blog, same here for receptions. It is so handy because it doesn't get air in the bag and the wine stays good for a very long time. You can't beat the Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile in the Franzia boxes. Love your mom's idea. Gene's mom always kept a box of the chill-able red in her fridge.
