You may know that Joanna, our oldest daughter is a Saint. She takes care of us, baseball buddies, professors, musicians and many other friends. Many of us are up in age and she patiently puts up with us. She volunteers at The Bugle Boy in La Grange. She is tech support and more.
She has been supporting live music for many years. When Covid started she began watching all the Zoom shows by her musician friends and buying more T-shirts, CDs and other merchandise since she couldn't see them live and in person. If you recall we were supposed to be in lock down for a couple of weeks. She decided to wear a different T-shirt from her musician friends every day. As of January 27, 2022, she had worn 372 different shirts. At the live shows she helps sell merchandise, pass the tip jar and whatever she can to help.
Some of the musicians got together and decided to do something for Joanna. They made a T-shirt for her. They knew she wouldn't take anything so they made it a fund raiser for HAAM, health insurance for Austin musicians. So very cool.
After that they decided to do a show in her honor as well. Y'all can get a T-shirt (link below) and come to the show as well:
If you can't see the poster, the show is
Joanna Fest
at Lustre Pearl South
Sunday, February 20, 3 - 6 pm
They had to cut the performers to 20, but more will be in attendance.
Hope you can come meet Joanna and her friends.
We all love Saint Joanna!

So, something kind of goofy is happening. Some of my music pals were planning a surprise for me but I found out about it and now it's getting out into the rest of the online world so I'm sharing it with y'all

This is basically what I'm going to post to Instagram:
Y’all know about my quaran-t-shirt project, right? A few weeks ago, my pals Miranda Dawn, Chris Hawkes, Erin Ivey, Cam Rogers, and Nicolette Good were talking about it and thought it would be fun if there was a Joanna t-shirt. They recruited Ellie Hammack to work on the design and were going to surprise me with it. I don’t know the specifics of the surprise—I just know they were going to surprise me. They set up a campaign via Fine Southern Gentlemen to print the t-shirt and donate the proceeds to HAAM! A friend of mine saw the design and forwarded the link to me with a “Wow!” comment—having no idea it was supposed to be a surprise. So, now I know and the surprise is over. But, I’m totally blown away by their thoughtfulness AND the fact that they wanted to donate the proceeds to HAAM! And, the design is very cool. It totally made me laugh. So many details. Wow! Ellie said there were many discussions of whether or not my hair should be in a braid or down, etc. Ha! Anyway, I’m amazed and humbled and have been smiling so much since I found out about it. I want to encourage all of you to buy one and support HAAM. It will make my day. It’s in presale with expected shipping the week of Feb. 14. I’ll put the link in my bio and leave it there for a bit. Love me some Miranda, Chris, Erin, Cam, and Nicholette!
We always knew that Joanna is special but who knew others would think so! Love, love, Joanna!

I still can’t wrap my head around all of this! It’s so amazing.
I also love the sketch of Coco! :-)
thats great the bands got together and did that 😀 and always good to make money for charity
We love the t-shirt, and Joanna Fest! We know she doesn't do what she does for any recognition, but it's wonderful that the music community is recognizing what a great fan and FRIEND she is! (She's taken care of us, too, on more than one occasion during the 40+ years we've known her.) We've bought several shirts to support the fundraiser. Saint Joanna is the BEST!!

What a great thing - the Joanna Fest! I haven't met her yet, but she does seem to be pretty wonderful. It is cool that she supports musicians and is good to take care of old people :) Send her my way, please.
Bag Blog, yep, Joanna is a keeper. Hope you get to meet her soon. We need to bring her along. She is working more now that she is retired. Ha.
Melissa and Pete, thank you for being here. Joanna has brought lots of folks together and been a good person. (Sorry this is so late) My post on March 8 explains)
Jennifer Rose - such a fun and super day and fundraiser. They plan to do it every year and give a Joanna award to another supporter.
Joanna, thanks. Sorry I didn't get all your comments posted. :-( Coco is fun. I can't believe I didn't see these comments. So sorry.
