When I'm not very creative my sketches feel and look like homework. Nothing exciting to show, but I do use this blog like a journal and a place to keep my sketches in one place. They are in many sketchbooks and random pastel papers and wiped off and given away or sold. Some are good enough for that. Really.

Number 2 and 3 flush - with a Micron 02 that is about out of ink as you can tell
Number 4, birdie - a small bird kept landing on the tiniest limb, wobbling around, leaving and coming back. Number 5, fences - the corner of the yard. Number 6, milkweed - subbing a dandelion, I think.
It was beautiful out on the porch at about 65 degrees F. Wow. It is supposed to get very windy. It was super windy last night. We are under a fire danger alert. Hope folks pay attention.
Sometimes life gets in the way of being creative. Yesterday we did go to lunch in Bellville, Texas, at Yani's Steakhouse. It was good and we met friends from years ago. Vic and Estela live in south Texas now but were in Houston so we met in the middle. We decided to go to Bellville as none of us had ever been there. It is a small, sleepy town. It was great to see our friends and hash over old times.
I was hoping to see some cattle and other wildlife for photo references to paint. It was cloudy and windy with sprinkles. We did see some pretty scenes but wintery trees need sunshine to stand out. We will try again another day.
Baseball starts tomorrow evening, it is supposed to be cold. We will try to go see the Longhorns on Saturday and go to St. Joanna's show on Sunday. Don't hold your breath to see a painting here soon.

Glad you are keeping up with the sketching. How great that. you were able to get together with friends for lunch. That is always good for the soul.
Joan, sketching keeps me going. Seeing "old" friends is always good.
