Skyscape was on the Scavenger Hunt from Life list this time. The first couple of days of the Hunt we had brilliant blue skies with not a cloud in sight, so sort of a boring skyscape for drawing. Then we had overcast foggy type clouds with no interesting shapes. Today we finally have scattered clouds that are sort of streaky from wind.
I sketched at the dining table with watercolors in the 9 x 12 Canson watercolor sketchbook with a regular watercolor brush and jar of water. No drawing.
I put #11 on this but think it is actually #9 Skyscape
Our internet is on slowdown today so I will post this and see if it actually goes anywhere. Uploading is usually better than downloading.

Jo this sketch makes me wish for warmer weather and blue skies. January in Ohio is often dark and overcast. So pretty Jo.
Glad you finally had a skyscape worth painting. Nicely done! With all our lousy weather we had grey skies for several days. Today was the fires day we had an interesting sky.
Debbie, thank you. You have beautiful clouds in our avitar. Happy to share our sunshine, especially in the hot summer. Ha. We've never spent any time in Ohio but have been through with several overnights in the big cities. I think we went to a big art museum in Cleveland one trip. Very nice.
Joan, thank you. Hope you get some decent sunshine. The weather sounds super cold for you at the moment. Stay warm and safe.
I love it when you do watercolors. It made me think to tell you that Natasha Isenhour from the NM Plein Aire Painters is doing little studies in watercolor. The medium it totally new to her. Interesting.
Bag Blog, thank you. Joanna likes my watercolor, too. I haven't seen Natasha's watercolor. She hasn't posted any for sale on her website. That is all the notice I get from her since I don't do facebook or instagram anymore. She is a super artist. She will have to go some to get to your level in watercolor.
Natasha's watercolors seem to be just studies. I'm not sure why she is doing them, but they are simple.
Bag Blog, maybe Natasha is like me. I would love to do a real painting with watercolor as plein air. So much less to carry. I would like that. Of course I need to practice and that is the hardest part. Ha.
