Accidental Lizard Sketch

There is a new Hunt today.  It was pretty nice on the porch about 80 degrees but with 85% humidity.  With the fan on, it wasn't bad.  As I was putting my big sketchbook on a little table I saw there was a tiny lizard on the step.  I could sketch a "new" item in the big sketchbook.  I have sketched several things over and over in the book.  300 pages on both sides!  So fun to find something new.

For Scavenger Hunt 691  https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/scavenger-hunt-691-august-22-30/

Sketched in the big book with the new Sharpie Pen.

Number 1, lizard - it was a little hard to see him through the screen so details are sketchy.  Pun intended.
Number 2, apple
Number 3, cherries
Number 4, book

The list for this Hunt is alphabetical, your choice what to sketch.  Challenge of using your non-dominant hand, creating a still life, or blind contour.  I picked still life for the three items.

The cherries are interesting.  They are a lighter red and have a line down the side from the stem.  They are very good.   I wasn't sure when I bought them, but there were no regular cherries and cherries were on my taste buds.

The book, Dancing Brushes a Fresh Approach to Watercolor, is the book by Rae Andrews.  The book is available on Amazon.  Rae has a great YouTube channel with lots of how to videos and some classes.  Many of her instruction videos are free and she is so talented and sharing.  Lots of fun.

I will be changing out my pastel paintings at the Lost Pines Art Center this week.  Info will be in my newsletter then here.

I like the sketchy lizard. The new puppy deposited a dead lizard in the carport. It was better than his dead rat on the porch.

Toby bought the dark cherries a week or so ago. Good stuff.

Bag Blog, thank you! Fun to find something new to sketch. I'm happy not to have any dead gifts on the porch. Cherries are one of my, no, actually, my favorite fruit.
