What to sketch that is salty? Same old chips? Wait! Joanna brought some "pretend" pork rinds from Buc-ee's. I've mentioned Buc-ee's before. It is a chain of convenience stores in Texas. Their main claim to fame is having large super clean restrooms. No 18 wheelers. They sell lots of food, mostly their brand, including fresh sandwiches (barbeque and pulled pork, etc.), bakery, ice cream, drinks and souvenirs. Many more items than I can list. Barbeque grills and outdoor ice boxes and more. It is an experience to go in one. We noticed recently that there is no place to sit down. They want you buying their "stuff" and getting back on the road to make room at their many, many gas pumps and all the people coming inside. They are super busy.

Number 7, salty - Buc-Arrones in a colorful bag, yellow, green and brown. They are salty and very spicy. Oh and good.
It says on the back of the bag in case you can't read on my sketch:
At Buc-ee's we're flavor fanatics. We like things bold and exciting. Delicious from start to finish. Oh, you too? Crack open a bag of Buc-Arrones for a puffed wheat snack that's exploding with chili and lime flavor. Trust us. You'll be glad you did.
I did notice they spelled chile incorrectly. They have chili - it should be chile. Chee-lay. Joanna and I like them a lot.

Hi Jo - your sketch of something salty made me smile. My hubby loved pork rinds. He tried to convince me one time that they were a good diet food! I want you to know I challenged him on this thinking😊😉!
I love it.
Debbie, ha. You realize no pork is involved in these. Made of wheat. Sort of Cheeto like in texture and messy. :-)) 250 calories for the bag. 2 ounces.
R’s Rue, thanks.
Sounds like an interesting place to shop...but I'm not in favor of no place to sit. The chips sound yummy!
Yep, Joan, a huge busy spot. I should go sketch there. Looks like they would like you to sit and have a sandwich and buy more, but seems to be buy and get the heck out for the next bunch. Yummy chips for sure.
the grocery stores around here use to have places to sit down but they got rid of the benches prob due to covid, which is a pain for me when my legs decide to stop working and i really need to sit down when shopping
Yep, we lost seating in lots of places. Buc-ee’s never has had any.
Wow, now I want something salty. What an interesting place and the chips look delish. Thanks for sharing.
jsicignano, thank you very much. I like the chips, but again I like most food!
Toby and I went to Dallas last Friday to buy clay at the Trinity Ceramics warehouse sale. We left early and headed down I 35. Just on the far side of Denton they had a big new Buc-ee's. We had passed on all sorts of huge truck stops just to get to the Buc-ees. We got a couple of breakfast burritos with egg and brisket. They were good. If I had known about the chile lime fake pork-skins, I would have tried them. I love anything chile lime! They did have a side for big trucks. In fact, in the entry way, a big semi had turned right and crunched a small car. I'm sure it was the car's fault for rushing up beside the truck to turn when trucks make big right turns. But I bet the trucker got the ticket.
Bag Blog, wow a huge Buc-ee's in the Denton area. Big trucks is a first for us. Ouch on the crunch of the small car. You are probably right on the ticket. The chile lime chips were good. Will have to get some when I go to town, we go right by the local Buc-ee's.
