Boxed In

The item I chose to sketch today was, "in a box".  We had a box from Amazon come in today so a good find for the Scavenger Hunt.

Scavenger Hunt 658, Number 2, in a box - mostly little gifts to put in the Christmas stockings.

I went out to take a photo of the light on the ponds this morning.  It was cold, about 45 degrees, so there was steam coming off the warm water.  As I was clicking the camera I saw a big bird circle a few times.  It dove down and grabbed onto a fish.  It stayed sort of under the water for a few seconds which seemed long so I turned to go get the binoculars and it flew up and off with the catch.  I didn't get the get away but I got a few photos of the action otherwise.  Not great photos as it is pretty far away.

Going down.....

Catching......

Got it!

The light on the lake is beautiful. Paintable.

Bag Blog, thanks. I forgot to post the first one when I saw the bird, it is farther away and shows the light. I'll post it tomorrow.

Joan, thank you. We draw names between the six of us here, but I like to put stuff in stockings so I still get to buy stuff. I'm Santa. It was a beautiful morning.

gorgeous view of the water 😀 maybe it was some kind of eagle?

Jennifer Rose, I was thinking eagle, but we haven't seen any around. We did have some Ospreys, but they are light in color on the bottom. Maybe we will see it again when we are walking and closer to the water.
