This old red and white umbrella from Canada brings back lots of memories. We traveled all over Canada for about 15 years. It was great. Gene rode his bike for miles on the trails that were converted from the narrow gauge train tracks. I would drop him off, go 30 miles or so down the trail and paint while I waited for him. We went golf course to golf course and had a great time from Nova Scotia to Vancouver and north to Yellowknife.
Sometimes we would decide on two meeting spots in case he wanted to ride farther. I would think I missed him at the first spot and take off. He said he would come down a hill and hope to see me parked and waiting and instead he would see the tail lights going up the next long hill. That happened too many times he says.
I'm not sure where we bought the umbrella but it was used many, many times. We bought the black and white one later. It doesn't have any logos, but is also a good big umbrella for golf.

I love that you had two meeting spots and sometimes you left for the second one. lol Sounds like you had a lot of good times up there. I've still never been to Canada....so close and yet so far.
Joan, yes, we had lots of good times and lots of stories. The Canadians were always so nice to us. Gene used to take his front tire off his bike to hook it to the rack. Many folks stopped to ask if he needed help since he had his tire off.
I love the Canada stories. Someday maybe Toby and I will hit the road and ride and paint. sigh.
Bag Blog, I hope you get to do that. Beautiful and fun.
I love this sketch of the umbrella Jo.... and LOVE the story behind it. A beautiful visual...I love the fact that you both do what you love and still travel together!!!!
hmuxo, thanks so much. Gene rides a trike and we haven't golfed in quite a while, but one of these days. We still hope to get to Kentucky before it snows. Ha.
Jo your umbrella makes a wonderful subject. So glad you shared your memories of traveling in Canada. Take care and have a super day. Hugs!
Debbie, it is thanks to the Scavenger Hunts for the subject. I probably wouldn't go dig an umbrella out otherwise. :-) Canada was a wonderful place to spend time. Wish it wasn't so far to do the whole country again. We may get to Ontario if they open the border before it snows!
Love the umbrellas. I have a black and white Wilson one that Larry gave me back when he worked at that golf place. Best umbrella I've ever had.
Joanna, thank you. Maybe Larry got us the black and white one as well. They both have been good.
