Wedding Blues

One of the items on Scavenger Hunt 635 was/is wedding related.
No recent weddings around here.  I thought of the wedding books from Jennie's (daughter) and Brandon's wedding and Christy's (granddaughter) and Nick's wedding.
They are both blue.  Jennie's is turquoise blue and Christy's is navy blue.

I first thought of doing them in pastel which is the quickest for me and gives the beautiful rich color that the books have.  The pastel sketches do not go into the big coffee table book which will eventually belong to Jennie.  I decided to do the sketch with a Micron 02 and add colored pencils.  Not as rich but fills a page in the big book.

I sketched out on the porch using my footstool for a table.  Not the best way to get straight lines when bending over the stool.  At least the sketch features something I haven't sketched and is in Jennie's big coffee table book.

Number 1, wedding related - wedding photo books

Larry, our son,  was the wedding photographer for both weddings.  His gift to the couples.  The books are beautiful with some great memories inside.

Larry is not normally a wedding photographer.  He leans toward sports and action photos.  You can check out his great work.  He is available to take some great photos for you at:

Happy news today.  We are great grandparents to a lovey baby girl, Mariam.  She weighed in at 9 pounds, 7 ounces.  She wins the prize for the largest baby in our immediate family.  She has two brothers so good she will be tough.  Ha.  Also two cousins that are boys.  Do you think she will be spoiled?

I closed my pages on facebook, instagram and twitter.  I am very discouraged with the tone of the posts in general.  Mostly though, I do not like the way that the media servers or whatever they are decide on what I should see.  If a friend doesn't post often enough, they are gone from my feed until I search them out.  Then I get what "they" decide is relevant to me and it isn't.  You will have to keep following my blog and sign up for my newsletter on my webpage https://jocastilloart.com

I may try to be more active on Pinterest for a while and see how that goes.

Thanks for reading here.  I do appreciate it and love talking art and fun!

Joanna, thank you so much. I didn't put the dates here, but will in the book. I haven't been active on Pinterest, I will try it more and see how it goes. Quite a bit of activity on the things I have followed or pinned. :-)

Joan, it is fun to have a girl in the mix. I can't imagine that she will be spoiled by all.
The wedding books are nice. We don't have to dig out the photos and can look whenever.
I enjoy my photos on my computer. I have them set to change every 30 minutes and it is fun to see some old photo all of a sudden with a memory of some event.
Thanks for stopping by.

I get pretty frustrated with social media too, but I do like to hear from old family and friends. I have snoozed lots of people lately on FB. One guy I totally defriended. He was a photographer from Taos who does amazing photography, but then he had to go and get all political using vulgar language concerning Trump going to church. Good Grief. I posted "Love your photography, but hate your hate." I actually got comments from his other followers saying it was okay to hate in some situations. Good Grief.

Mariam is a cutie. She will have to be tough with all those boys.

Thank you, Mariam is a delightful addition to the family. She does have good lungs, they say she has cried more in the first week than Henry has in his whole first year. Ha.

Yes, I heard someone say that no one heard the silent protests or the vocal protests so now they would hear the riots, justified, especially because anger is a part of grief. I say anger from grief does not justify rioting, stealing, and maiming. We are all Americans and need the respect of our fellow Americans. People have no values when everything is free. Sigh....
