What Is That? Pastel Sketch
I hadn't sketched or painted for the Southwest Western Forum December Challenge. I was going to sketch something in the big book but didn't care for the photos for sketching with pen and ink. Snow is fun to paint in pastels so I chose the mountain scene. I did a quick 30 - 40 minute sketch. Gene took a look at it and said, "What is that?" It made me laugh.

This was our sunset here at home last night. The sky was almost turquoise. Very nice, took a photo in memory of my mom, she was always taking photos of sunsets and rainbows.

I like how the snow is leading into the painting. Beautiful sky!!!
Thanks, Joan. Always fun to play in the dust. The sky was amazing. I had only seen turquoise skies in New Mexico and rarely.
