Watercolor Bananas

Working on Scavenger Hunt 600  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1470223

in watercolor for the practice.  Maybe I should just practice my pastels and use watercolor on my ink sketches once in a while.  Hmmmm.

Number 2, banana

We picked up some fresh bananas in Taos yesterday,  They are pretty green but they seemed to age as I painted them.  This is probably about a 30 minute sketch.  It is in the Canson 9 x 12 watercolor sketchbook.  I used a regular brush and water, not the water filled brushes.

Again for info on watercolor, pastel and more check out Rae Andrews, YouTube and blog.

Also Joan Tavolott is a tireless sketcher and uses watercolor on most of her sketches.

My painting buddy, Bag Blog, Lou Baggett, is also super proficient with watercolor and teaches a lot in Oklahoma.  She hasn't posted as often as she used to.  She has internet problems like I do when I'm home.  http://bagwag.blogspot.com/  If you are in Oklahoma, you might get in a class.

Have fun, see you soon.

Thanks for the shout-out. I'm stealing wifi today. I'm all out of data at home. sigh. I haven't worked in watercolor much this summer with the first the paint out and then the art battle. I'm really missing it.

Bag Blog, you are welcome. Your watercolors sing. It will be fun to see you and Jesse at the Art Battle. Looking forward to that!

Joanna, yes, and you know how I love yellow! When we have yellow to sketch on the Hunts I usually can only find bananas, post it notes and maybe a tool handle. That's it. :-)

Thanks for the link to my blog. I visited Bag Blog and Rae too. I like seeing what other artists are doing. I haven't been doing much. I have all good intentions to create and then get caught up in something else. I think I was worn out after the paint out. lol

Jennifer Rose, thank you. Sorry you miss them. I like them OK. Better in pudding or something more decadent. Ha.

Joan, thanks for coming by. I spent most of the afternoon watching a very interesting watercolor artist. I will link on my blog. Different and a wow! Paint outs are hard. I think you use all your energy and it takes a while to get it back. Rest up!
