Here I go again! Sketching can sometimes be a chore. Something I do for the Scavenger Hunt when I feel guilty about not painting or not posting. That is good in a way because it makes me get out the tools and have a certain mind set.
Sketching while waiting in line or at the doctor's office can also be a chore or homework. A big advantage is the time passes more quickly and before you know it you have finished.
Sketching to just sketch and have a good time is probably the best exercise where I actually get something good out of the sketches.
Today falls in the second category of being in the doctor's office. I had at least two hours to sketch, but you feel like they may call you any minute so it is a sort of speed sketch.
These are for Scavenger Hunt 456

For you plein air painters that are searching for a light weight paint box this looks so fine. Jamie took part in many of the Scavenger Hunts. I'm pretty sure she made the first list. At any rate she has come up with this light weight pallette and paint holder, less than a pound. It can be printed on a 3D printer. She will have the code available soon so you can have one printed. How nice is that?
Jamie is a great painter and has much info on her blog. Have fun checking her work.

I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I had seen Jamie's post on FB. Looks like an interesting setup. She is so nice to share her work. Some day I am going to head slightly north and see if I can catch up with her. She isn't that far away from me. I had gone up to one of her favorite places to paint with a friend once and hoped to see her there...but no luck. lol
