We had visitors. That is always good. We end up doing things we normally wouldn't. We got out of the house and had a good time.
We took in a Longhorn baseball game and a bit of karaoke and smoke! After the game we were all hungry. The only place open between Austin and home was Bob's Sports Bar just out of Elgin. Most of the patrons were smoking. The four of us are non smokers but decided we would suffer and have some burgers. The singers were not great. Kurt sang country western so we bought him a beer and encouraged him to sign up as often as possible to avoid the rap and loud rock songs. Ha. It was different for sure. We arrived home, put our clothes in the washing machine and all had showers before bed!
Yesterday, Estela and I went to The Crossing to meet up with Joan from the Bastrop Sketchers. It is always good to get out in the world. I stretched the sketches to fit in the Scavenger Hunt.

Number 5, corner - corner of the porch at The Crossing. Watercolor and Prismacolor fine line marker/pen.
I also used the sihlouette sketch from Saturday for #4, row of something.
Oh, the Longhorns won the game 2-0 over the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners. The score was great but not much excitement. A most beautiful evening at the ballpark, though. I will complain a bit. The prices for food have skyrocketed. A bottle of water is $4, coke (soda) $7, kettle corn $7. We didn't look over more than that. I can't imagine taking four kids to the game. I think a general admission ticket must be around $10. Whew!
They do have a new parking garage and we can park right in front of the stadium. That is great.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I use to hate coming home from work smelling like a smoke stack, so glad you cant smoke indoors here and not at a lot of places in canada if I am remembering right
great porch sketch :) nice colours and line work :)
Jennifer Rose, Thanks. I love to see the US Flag and our State's flags flying. Makes me proud.
We thought all public buildings were smoke free now as well, evidently doesn't apply to bars. Shocking to go in this bar. At The University of Texas, the whole campus is smoke free. So nice. No one standing at the doorway smoking up the entrances.
I've gotten use to smoke-free places. I'm not sure how I would do in a smoke place now.
I'm really robin's your watercolor sketches!
Lou, thanks so much. The smoke was awful .. I can't imagine how we ever smoked. That was back in the 60s. Bad in so many ways.
