Hunting Downtown Sketches

Yesterday was a lovely, gorgeous day again.  I went to The Crossing with Pomona to sketch.  We ended up there most of the day, just gabbing and sketching and enjoying the people and sketching.

For Scavenger Hunt 521

Actually I wasn't sketching for the Hunt, exactly, but they fit ...
Number 8, something in a public place - an old truck full of junk and a windmill and water tank.

Number 9 and 10, living and piece of furniture - stretching it as I didn't finish the sketch

Number 11 or so, road-scape - this motorcycle needs to be on the road so sort of a road-scape.  I don't know what I was thinking on the numbering.....

This is toward the scene of living above and another old pickup with some delapitated hay, almost as old as the truck, right?

If you want to see some beautiful pastel paintings, take a look at the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) show and winners for 2017. Click on 31st show for this year.  Others to view as well.

you are really good at sketching the car and bike, your sketching style works well with them :)

Nice sketches. I like the windmill, the old truck and the motorcycle.

Jennifer Rose, thank you so much. Unfamiliar territory, especially the bike. The old truck had a sign leaning up against it so couldn't see the back wheel on the passenger side. But interesting to try the bike. I made it longer that it really was. Fun to do something new to me!

Joan, thanks. The windmill and all the old cars are really getting in bad shape. Good thing to get them sketched now!

Those sketches are great. I love the old truck and the motorcycle.

Bag Blog, It was good to have the motorcycle and have it stay put! You know you start a car or something and the driver comes back and leaves the scene. When he parked I asked how long he would be there so I could sketch it. It was still there when we left! It was backlit a bit so I couldn't see the motor area well.

The old cars are really deteriorating. Not sure how many years they have left.
