Hunting Gold - Sketch

The big book called to me for this sketch.  There was about 1/3 page under my last sketch, perfect for this one.  The Micron 01 was the tool of choice.

Number 10, Goldfinger - my gold ring that Gene got for me in Bolivia, many years ago.

The sketch shows the carvings as it goes around.  Gene got matching rings for us.  He lost his, but as you see, I still have mine.

Gene also designed the rings.  We didn't have rings, so he had a pair crafted in gold and another in silver.  They have/had typical Bolivia scenes and our initials.  My initials are my maiden name.  KJK  I started to draw KJC on the sketch.  Habit of writing initials now as opposed to then.  That made me smile.

I've never taken a close look at your ring. How did I miss that? And Gene designed the rings! He is amazing.

Joan, thanks. He lost it in Española, New Mexico. We played golf with Roger, his brother, and he left it on the seat of the car. Dragged out at the restaurant after, probably. We go there almost every year and always watch for gold in the parking lot. Ha.

Bag Blog, I don't wear gold that much. Sometimes when I "dress up". Gene wore his a lot. I usually wear my turquoise and silver stuff. The silver ring was small for me and I was waiting to get it made larger and am pretty sure both silver rings burned. The gold is laid out like I sketched it and the design carved into it. Then put together for the ring shape. Gene saw them being made. Cool.
