Hunting Something Featuring Birds Sketch

I sketched this morning in the large sketchbook with a Micron 01 and added a bit of colored pencil.
The cardinal is a copper sculpture I bought at Art Connections, where I have some paintings.   http://www.artconnectionsgallerybastrop.com/
The gallery has so many different things.  You find something new to look at each time you visit there.

Number 2, something featuring a bird
Number 2, something in a color you dislike - I can't dislike any color, right?  Orange is not a favorite so I sketched Gene's back-up hard drive.

This is First Friday coming up.  There will be some great shows in downtown old historic Bastrop.  Maybe you should head on down.... 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. is the best time.

Check out First Friday in Bastrop on Facebook for more information.

I have been giving my little art girls homework - something to sketch in their sketchbooks. So when I told them "something soft," they all looked at me like I was crazy. Then they thought about it for a minute and came up with some ideas. Maybe next time I'll give them "something you dislike."

hmuxo, thank you so much. Sketching is about all I have been doing lately. It has kept me going!

Bag Blog, that is fun. You are a good teacher! Make 'em think ... and practice!
