Wow! Art Links

I wrote this the other day when I had no art to show:

I have not done any sketching or painting so have a couple of friends for you to check out.  I have linked to them before, but today is exceptional.

First Kelly Borsheim:

Kelly is a good friend I met about 10 years ago in Austin at a show.  She joined in the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild for a while and has since taken to living in Italy and working on her sculpture and painting.  She is amazing in sculpting, painting in oils, painting in pastels and photography.  This post is about sculpting in bronze.  The post before was stone work.  Beware, Kelly is a prolific writer, you can spend days reading her blog and looking at her beautiful work.  Still you should see the work involved in her current project:

Next Deborah Secor:

I "met" Deborah on line, probably on wetcanvas.com, and also about 10 years ago.  Deborah caught my eye with her southwest landscapes from New Mexico.  Everytime we went to Albuquerque I planned on meeting her in person.  It hasn't happened.  She is a wonderful pastel painter and teacher.  She wrote for the Pastel Journal and has videos in their book store.  She retired a few years ago to simplify her life and concentrate on her faith.  She is painting again and has offered her free book in PDF form.  Before that you had to download each chapter.  She is a great teacher and you will learn sooooo much from a talented and generous artist.

Leather Rope
Pastel, 8 x 10 inches
A painting done at the old house from a leather rope hanging on the porch.   It was fun to paint with all the detail.  I don't think I ever posted this.

We got in from our Hill Country trip a little while ago. We had to stop and visit my mom in WF on our way through. Gruene Hall was lots of fun, but a bit hot. Our friend, Cisco the river rafter from Taos, was there as well as the Hinojosa herd. It was a big party. It was good to get home today.

I like the rope painting and will look through the links next.

Bag Blog, it was a hot weekend. We went into Austin for lunch. Gruene Hall is always fun ... and crowded. Thanks on the painting, it burned, of course! Ha.
