Pastel Sketch and Advice

I got out an old piece of paper to sketch on for Scavenger Hunt 470  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1414433
The paper is about shot, but OK for a sketch.  I wiped it off with a brush and then some paper towels.  I didn't wet it because it is chipping, texture is falling off.

You can see some bare spots across the upper right where sky has been.  It will still even do for another sketch I am sure with a wipe-off.  Ha.

Number 9, looking down (2 of 3 items) - pastels on a wooden tray with screen, done with pastels on the old paper.

Art link for the day:

One of the blogs I follow but haven't linked to in ages is emptyeasel.com  The blog is advice on drawing, painting, business and many other art related subjects and artists.  This recent post is about time saving and using your time to your advantage.  I used to be really good at this or at least good at it.  I was productive and was selling art.  I have slacked off.  I must be retiring by default.  You have to paint and schmooz to sell art.  In the schmoozing part, I am including marketing.

If you are serious about your work and you should be, check out this post and blog.... Reminders if nothing else, to get you jump started.

Great idea to use an old piece of paper for the sketch. Why not?

The blog link has some good ideas about using time and making yourself ready to create. I do try to make time to get out and paint/sketch something every day, but rarely change mediums. When I do I really enjoy it so maybe I need to do it more.

might as well get as much use out of the paper as you can :) waste not want not and all

Jennifer Rose, it is also easier than looking for a new piece of paper, back to my laziness!
