Happy Canada Day to all y'all!
We have lots of Canadian friends. We traveled every summer to Canada for about 10 years. We went from Nova Scotia to Vancouver Island and North to Yellowknife and Ft. Nelson. What good times we had! Gene rode his bike on the converted railroad tracks and I painted. We did play a lot of golf then as well.
We were also friends with Canadians in South America. We used to enjoy them as they were up to try almost anything. I asked them why they were so carefree and was told they could get away with a lot because everyone thought they were from the U.S. So.....
This painting I did near Nelson and Kaslo in British Columbia on one of our early trips.
Gene has always kept a journal and this was his cover with photos in British Columbia, too. I think most of our other photos burned in the fire. It was before digital, or at least before we had digital or did a blog. I have some of his other journals stored on my website, I need to figure out how to open them. Ha.
In Bolivia we lived next door to the Catholic priests. Both Papi Jim and Papi Nino were Canadian. They were instrumental in growing our family with the additions of Jennie and Larry. Very long story about them. We saw Jim several times after we left Bolivia and Nino a couple of times. More about Father Jim here http://jocastilloartblog.blogspot.com/search?q=jim
So, there you are then!
Happy Canada Day to all y'all!
