Sketching a Foggy Sky

Scavenger Hunt 394  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1372685  has "sky" as one of the items.  It is foggy, rainy and cold here.  I could only imagine sketching the fog in color.  Pen and ink might be a real challenge and take toooo long to do for a sketch.  I pulled out the iPad and used the Brushes App for this one.

Number 1, sky and Number 2, grass or ground cover

Hope you are warm and snug wherever you are if it is cold outside.  It is about 40 degrees here, which is very cold for us.  Doesn't compare with our family in Kentucky or any of you up north.  I'm happy with my 40s.

Here is our back yard today, I chose to just use 3 of the trees on this side. Hmm, must be artist's license. Ha.

Nice sky! I will happily take your 40s. It was 3 here this morning, and we had a high of 20! It is even cold inside. I've got our heat turned up as high as it goes, and it still isn't warm. At least I'm getting to wear all my heavy sweaters...although I didn't plan on wearing them all at the same time. lol

Capturing dust or fog in my watercolors is something I have tried. It's not as easy as you think.

We had a bit of freezing rain yesterday, but it is suppose to warm up in the 50's today.

Joan, Brrrr. I feel for you. I just couldn't stand it. I am smiling about wearing all your sweaters at once!

Bag Blog, fog and dust ain't easy, as they say.

We expect 50 today, too. It is first home game of the Longhorns. I plan on listening on the internet. Ha. 50 degrees will mean 40 or less in the stands.

Wow! Great effect you got with the I-Pad! I should try that again - not easy!!! You captured the total atmosphere in this one!

Pretty chilly here too - 54 degrees and that feels cold to me...

Thanks, Rosemary. You can do beautiful "paintings" with some concentration and undo touches. :) I keep it to sketching for the Hunts.

Rosemary, that is cold for you! Do you even own wool sweaters?? Ha.

I think you did a good job getting that foggy look :) can be hard to get without making things look dirty

Jennifer, thank you. Much easier with color than pen and ink. At least for a sketch and not a drawing which takes.... time.
