Hunting Sketches for 391 - Pastel Start

A quick post to show I have been doing something.  I sat in my comfy chair with my feet up and sketched there.  These are for Scavenger Hunt 391 http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1370607 and done in the large sketchbook with a Micron 05.

Number 4, tied with a ribbon - the glider on the porch.  Regina and Larry gave it to us when we got the new house and we left the ribbon on.  Wow, it has been almost 3 and a half years.  Seems like yesterday and sometimes seems like forever.  Hmmm.

Number 5, chair
Number 6, set of something - weights
Number 7, adjustable - one of Gene's walking sticks.  The length adjusts and it has an adjustable flashlight on the end.

I painted a painting of our lake out back last week.  Gene liked it a lot.  I was not comfortable with the middle ground, lake part.  I considered just working on that part again and when I started brushing that section off with a paint brush, I just decided to wipe off the whole thing and go again.  That can be therapudic for me and give me a fresh look for the painting with an underpainting already there.

I forgot to take a photo of just the dry wipe off so snapped one when I first applied water.

Then this is the underpainting after the water dried.

Hopefully I will like the new painting and will be able to show you the before and after.  I hope that Gene will like it even more.  He was not pleased that I wiped it off.  :)  Wish me luck!

There is a video on my tab above about painting waves.  I did a wipe off on that painting, too.

Gene's walking stick made me laugh. He is such a Mr. Gadget.

It looks like a good start to your painting. Good luck. At least you are painting.

Bag Blog, Gene is definitely Mr. Gadget. He must have 50 canes by now, too! And, I finished the painting .... I think!

Nice sketches and start to the painting. You are probably better off wiping it off because whatever was bothering you about the painting will probably continue to bother you. I'll be watching for it.

We had lots of snow overnight!!! I'm so ready for spring and it isn't even February yet.

Joan, thank you. Hope your snow wasn't as bad as expected and you don't lose power! It was 84 here today, hmmmm.

The painting is better. I will post as soon as my in house critics approve.
