Hunting in Colored Ink

Happy New Year, all y'all!  I have a few new followers in the last few weeks and would like to thank you for joining in the conversation.  I post about art and personal things.  I usually title the post if it isn't about art so you art fans can ignore those posts.  Somehow I cannot divide my real life out of my artist life as to me it is all connected.  Hopefully you will bear with me in that......  The marketing gurus say that is not a good thing.  I haven't been painting enough to worry about my marketing.  Ha.

I sketched with some new Micron 05 pens that Joanna gave me for Christmas.  There are six pens:  red, blue, brown, purple, green and black.  They don't appear to have names, just colored ends so you can see which is which.

Number 2, jam
Number 3, leftovers - supposed to be pizza in a plastic container.  The yellowy color is colored pencil for the cheese and bread part.  Sigh.....

The pens are good and work as the regular black ones.  I haven't had any for a while so it may inspire some odd sketches.

We are going to First Friday tonight.  It is going to be so cold.  The artists at Art Connections are:

"Form & Function Become One"
January 2, 20155:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Join us for an evening of wonderful art & great company!  The exclusive show of artwork by Mark & Patricia Rendulic is designed around the concept of form and function as one joined in spiritual union.

This husband and wife duo are collaborating on works that combine wood, glass, and metal for the first time.  These pieces serve botha functional need (table) & an internal need (the art).

The Rendulics will be featuring three beautiful tables, along with wall art, small boxes & other handcrafted artwork!
Along with unique artwork, the Gallery will be serving delicious treats made by our very own Renate Kasper!

A couple of years ago when in Pairs, we found an art store. I have a nose for them :) Jesse bought a set of little markers and a small sketch book. She made the greatest sketches. I was so jealous. I bought some modeling clay at the art store. I love it, too.

Bag Blog, sketching is such a great way to create a travel journal. Color seems to add sparkle to them. Thanks....

Thanks, Joanna. I'm off to a colorful start anyway. :-)

Great sketches :) I love working with ink pens, makes you really concentrate on the shapes and lines since you can't erase your marks :)

Jennifer Rose, Thank you. You do beautiful pen and ink work. Sketching in ink does make you think first ... well, I'm supposed to and don't always!
