Hunting Sketches for Hunt 381

I sketched for Scavenger Hunt 381 http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1364332  yesterday and today.  We had a couple of cool mornings so I sketched yesterday afternoon on the porch and this morning in the living room.  I used the same tools, the large sketchbook and a Micron 05 pen.

I am still not back into painting every day or very often, but I try to keep at the sketching.  I think it will keep me connected and the fingers limber.  My style in sketching and in painting is to do it quickly.  I feel that I am getting closer to the day!

Number 1, silhouette - the items on the screen support on the porch.
Number 2, part of a body - my hand.  My thumb looks big like I sketched from a photo and used the camera's perspective.

Number 3, basket - basket full of old Christmas cards and letters
Number 4, graceful - a blade on the ceiling fan in the living room
Number 5, flat - the top of a nesting table
Number 6, uniform shape - the coasters are uniform, even if I don't draw them that way.

Derek Cameron has some fine art on his website. www.artderek.com  He is in our Southwest and Western Art forum on wet canvas.  He does beautiful work and paints trompe L'oeil (fool the eye painting) work along with his multi media work.  This is a link to one of his trompe L'oeil paintings http://cam.fineartstudioonline.com/workszoom/1248315 on his website.  This is to a link on Pinterest of a new one he posted on wetcanvas.com  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/16677461095991300/  I really like the barns.  Have fun looking at Derek's work.

Joanna is coming to dinner, well, stopping at the Roadhouse and picking up dinner so I need to go set the table.  They have good food!  http://www.roadhousebastrop.com/  The menu is on-line.

***PS.  Bag Blog mentioned in the comments William Acheff doing his trompe L'oeil.  Here is a link to a neat one  http://www.nationalcowboymuseum.org/events/pdw/onlinecatalog/ArtistCatalog.aspx?ID=1

I'm out of the loop, what did you do to your fingers? or is that just a general comment to about keeping fingers use to making art?....

Ha, Jennifer! I was just commenting that I keep sketching to keep my fingers limber to be ready to paint when the desire returns. Sorry to confuse you and of course the sketch is pretty sloppy, my hand is pretty normal but wrinkled. Tee hee.

I like trompe L'oeil paintings. At one time I had a print by William Acheff and Ed Morgan. I may have blogged about it. Anyway, William Acheff does some amazing trompe L'oel paintings - some can be seen in the Prix de West shows of the National Cowboy - Western Heritage Museum.

Bag Blog, the technique is so cool, I don't have the patience or the skill probably to do that. I put a link above to William Acheff. Thanks. :)
