You know I have been having a hard time focusing on and making art. I found this article today on the Fine Art Views Art Marketing Newsletter. This statement caught my eye:
Life is short, especially when you're in the last third of life. You can no longer afford to make wimpy art, I tell myself.
I should take heed to this statement and article and evaluate my paintings. I'll let you know how it goes. :) Below I put a few samples of my most recent work to think about.
Let me know what you think of the article ....

Be a Rebel!
by Sue MartinThis would be a good time to write a new seasonal artist statement. Perhaps it's something that doesn't quite fit now, but one that you will grow into as you continue your new season of art making. [...]

I posted this and then realized immediately that it is April 15. Not many folks have time to browse on the web. They are doing taxes!!

I don't do taxes - that is the nice thing about being married to an accountant and having an accountant son.
Good questions in the article. #4 and 7 caught my eye. Sometimes by the time I get ready - everything in its place, I have lost my inspiration - become distracted by all the doings. Sometimes just the thought of all I need to do in my art room makes me not want to paint. Lets face it, I'm lazy.
Bag Blog, lucky you. I've been doing taxes since I started working as a teenager. I use TurboTax now and that helps.
I am very easily distracted, too. I seem to get bored with ideas if I can't comple a project right away. I've had some wildflowers on my easel for a couple of weeks. Sigh........
Wow, JO these works are awesome!!!!
Hey Azulparsnip, nice to see you here and thank you very much!!
I like them all but Flor de Cholla is my favorite.
Joanna, I know you like the flower or wildflowers the best. I would like to try the cactus in real life instead of a photo. I'm just too lazy as Bag Blog says she is. Hmmmm.
