Quick Sketches for Hunt 344

I just realized I never posted this blog post.  Better late than never.  The party was on January 16.  Sigh....

I started one of the new sketchbooks I got for Christmas.  It is  a Canson, Universal Sketch with 9 x 12 inch perforated pages.  Recommended for pencil, pastel, pen and ink.  Not for watercolor or acrylic.  It has a nice feel to the paper, very smooth.  I used the Prismacolor Premier 03 fine line marker/pen.

For Scavenger Hunt #344:  Number 3, curtain and Number 4, room.  The corner of the living room all out of proportion.  Sigh.  Well, it was about 11 p.m. when I was sketching.  Excuses, excuses.....  (you can click on the photos to make them larger)

Number 5, evergreen - part of the tree out the window in the above sketch.  Number 6, art.  These were done earlier this morning.

I was sketching late as we went to the Byrd and Street CD release party.  It was at Threadgill's south so we had a good meal with Joanna and enjoyed the show very much.  I really like the new CD.  Tommy is a great songwriter.  Kathy has a sweet voice and they were joined by Don Raby on a 5 string fiddle and Chip Dolan on keyboard piano and accordian.  It was a super evening!

I think a trip to Austin this spring would be fun. Your talk of music and Threadgill's makes me long for the Hill Country.

Your complaints about proportion made me smile. :-)

The Byrd and Street show was lots of fun.

Joanna, smiles are always good.

Byrd and Street put on a good show and are all around good people, too.
