Pedal Through the Pines for the FCC

Gene and I have been supporters of the Family Crisis Center in Bastrop since we moved here.  The Center is such a help to the community.  They serve Bastrop and four area counties.  You might find this bike ride a way to help the community, have fun and prepare for the MS150.

This year's event will take place on Saturday, March 9th, 2013, 9AM

This year Pedal Thru The Pines is returning to Bastrop and Buescher State Parks. Please look at the route maps and the start line.
Pedal Thru The Pines is an on the road cycling event benefiting the Family Crisis Center. Participating cyclists may choose from routes of 17 miles, 27 miles, 47 miles, or 62 miles. The event takes place each year in early March. The Pedal ride is a recommended training ride for the BP MS150. All event proceeds support the programs and services offered by the agency. The event is organized and directed by the agency with support from board members, volunteers, and community partners who volunteer their time, provide donations, and serve as event sponsors.

If you don't ride and want to volunteer or donate, call Charlotte Pietsch at 512 321 7760 or e-mail her at charlottep@familycrisiscenter.us

That sounds like something Toby would love, but I am going to Paris on March 7. He has to stay home and take care of the dogs.

It is a great fundraiser. I used to help make sandwiches and cut oranges before, then be there at 6:30 a.m. to check in the riders. Gene would operate a SAG car. This year we will just donate $$. :) Would be nice to see you!
